I have no idea...I've never seen him play before. I'm no MWO god but him beating me 10 out of 10 times after two months seems a bit excessive. Anything is possible in this world however and I'm open to the possibility...

The point I'm trying to make is that this whole thread is speculation based on what you initially told us. No stats, no gameplay vids...you've put up nothing except saying that you are unable to move tiers and it doesn't seem like there is a point to playing because of this. If you are judging your progress based on tiers alone, I guess I can see what you are thinking but tiers are not the only standard to judge your progress by.

I wish you could see others stats by looking at their profile, just tried it, guess what, you cant see their stats.

Only matches from 2015 onwards have counted towards PSR.
You need hundreds (past the initial boosts) of drops to ascent.

My EXP bar started max, of course, but a friend in Tier 4 (due to inactivity) has already gotten to Tier 1.

I should point out that while I may be "new" to this game I'm a long time gamer, and a high tier player in most other games I play. I take the time to learn maps, and strategies when I see that my regular playing skills (aim,reactions,ect) aren't getting me desired results. I've been around many "meta" type games before so it's nothing new either, from playing league of legends since beta, and magic the gathering since the early 90's. So my situation may not be the "typical" new player situation. This game replaced CS:GO for me, cs became stale and the skins are boring after a while on the same weapons over, and over.

Turn Tier off.
At first I tried working towards moving up, found myself riding the line between two tiers constantly going up and down between them even when using meta stuff.
Finally got tired of it, turned it off in game so I cannot see it, now I seem to have stabilized at the higher tier, might be moving up but cannot see the bar.
Seems to work better this way. Less stress over Tier, more focus on what to do in game.

Post some stats, take a Screenshot or use Clip tool and show us your stats, they will answer all the questions or a lot of them im sure.

Who gives a **** about random MWO XP bar. When the system was set up where you could suicide into the enemy doing 5 dmg and the rest of your team wins and YOU GO UP, the whole thing became lulz. The only purpose it serves is to keep tier 1's away from tier 5's.

The score system is borked anyway, dmg is king of kings and doing raw unfocused dmg will net you the best score over time. That's right, blind firieng lurm boats, considered to be some of the most n00bish players of the game, were placed in the top tiers when the system began leading to numerous "reset my PSR" threads for several months after as the tears of the unskilled blindfireing dmg boats welled up.

Want to move up and get a top score? Go dismember that AFK Atlas while your team does all the dirty work of actually fighting.

1- Buy Awesome-8R.
2- Equip LRM 15s
3- Drop

Repeat this process as necessary.

What are your stats? I have a pretty hard time believing that with thousands of games and more wins than losses you are in T4.

I have less wins than losses (-60) at ~4k recorded games, and 1.1 KDR an am T2 and constantly going up.

I only play a few matches a night, if that, so my bar has been steadily crawling up to the next tier for the last several months.


That said, if you truly aren't moving, then perhaps it means you are at the correct tier? Maybe you need to change how you play to get to the next tier?

yea I have a hard time believing that as well.

Over 4000 matches (not including CW matches obviously)
1,994 wins
2,081 losses

I'm Tier 3 and I've only played under the Tier system for about 4-5 months now so my actual PSR match number is MUCH lower.

I'd hazard to say it's impossible for a player to have those stats and be "stuck" in Tier 4

Has the OP tried contacting PGI to see what they have to say? Perhaps there's a technical issue?

I am a casual player and I consider my skills to be mediocre at best.

Since the Tier implementation I have moved from T4 to T2 and I am steadily climbing despite the fact I have lost more games than I have won and my KDR is only 0.8.

You need ~2500 matches since January of 2015 to reach Tier 1, at least according to Paul.

Progress is extremely slow on an existing account. If you make a new account for test purposes, it gets a bonus to PSR change so that it can quickly move you to your "correct" Tier for matchmaking purposes. But those of us (including you) who are playing on accounts that date back to 2012 have very rigid histories that were pre-loaded into the system.

If you are getting a match score of 251+ in every game, your rank is rising. It may be rising very, very slowly, but it is rising.

Remember the old saying: a watched pot never boils. Take a screenshot and stop paying attention to it. In a month, take another screenshot and compare them.
