As for MWO, no mech I fear, some pilots on the other hand.... and even then it's not fear, just knowing I'm going to get my teeth kicked in.

I am not claiming Cheetahs are OP or anything like that. I think they have such good characteristics that they compensate for poor players more than just about any other mech. As such seeing a poorly driven Cheetah is a rarity, and thus they are a consistent and greater threat than many other mechs. Its just that when I see a Cheetah on the other team, my impulse thought is that the Cheetah is a greater threat to me and my side's chances of winning more than any other mech. I feel like if I kill a Cheetah (or even just leg it) I feel I have done more to help my team win than killing a Dire or Atlas on the other side. I think this fear is common and is a real big part of why so many fall victim of "gotta chase the squirrel" mentality.
What is your mech equivalent to the boogie man and why?
Ugh, I've been on the receiving end of those rare instances where 2 or more lights actually work together and coordinate and it typically doesn't end well for me.
It's not just ACHs that are troublesome when it happens. I've had a pair of Ravens do it, and Jenners, and lots of other combos. As usual, teamwork is OP.
Fortunately for me it's not all that common in pugland so there's that.

I remember this one match, from a few months back, I was dropping in my LCT-PB, and got matched up with three LCT-1E's on Bog... well we got stomped hard, 4-8, but us four Locusts, we made it a 12-10 by the end... as usual team work is OP.

Oh god those light swarms were fierce -- and fun to be in. To see the seething mass of firestarters cresting the hill and then surround you in a bubbling mass of lasers and metal was terrifying and fascinating at the same time.

The only thing to fear is...
...teamwork itself!
I like that. Sums up a lot about what I like about the game.
Still though, Cheetahs man, Cheetahs.

Though...if I had to pick one chassis that makes me sit up and pay attention more'n any other, it'd actually be the Cauldron-Born. Perhaps it's just my own deep affection for the chassis and the multitude of horrifying things you can do with it combined with how surprisingly rare they are down here, but whenever I see an enemy Cauldron-Born I tend to focus on it and ensure it's handled if at all possible, simply because it's one of those 'Mechs I personally know takes more merciless advantage of being ignored than virtually any other machine in the game.

Teamwise = Those teams that refuse to push an advantage, or that stand in place as they're being killed and do nothing, those teams are downright scary to be on. Autopilot Nascar as long as it's away from the enemy style of team, even if it means Nascar'ing right out of the terrain advantage when we know the enemy is heading towards it from the disadvantage.
Caustic comes to mind, I rarely see a team Nascar left instead of right and catch the other teams Nascar coming across either of the open sides. The team that Nascars left, actually has their assault lance at the front and ends up grouped better, but for some reason, the default is always away from the assault lance to the right. /boggle

Particularly if they've somehow remained hidden most of the game and come lumbering around a corner when I'm not exactly in prime condition.

I'm still toying with the idea of putting together a team of crabs. I think 12 crabs would shred just about anything the enemy had in opposition.

12 crabs + 12 King Crabs (6 of each in the first two waves)... that leaves enough room for 110t more stuff.... could be interesting....

hmmmm
that means you could do 3 crabs and a KGC...
That could be interesting, especially if the entire team had the same deck
Might not work too well on defend unless you get aggressive though

Is it better to be loved, or feared?
Don't fear me.
Don't fear my weapons.
Just get your head down, you're safe behind me.
