But that argument is moot because its a Clan Battlemech, not an omni. You can put a CXL400 in it with the way MW:O works and engine ratings.

Also, no one expects it to go as fast or be as nimble as a Timberwolf anyway. The MadcatMk_II's strength relies in that its literally a larger, heavier gunned Timberwolf that is supposed to actually have Jump Jets.

Granted, Jump Jets in this game are f*****d and anything over 90tons cannot actually jump regardless of number of jets, so I digress.

The real reason people want to play it though, is because its a iconic 'mech that just looks sexy (myself included).

Like I said, I hope it is everything you want it to be, I just don't care for it. And just because I don't care for it, doesn't mean I'm against you guys getting it. That being said, I'm only here to provide CK with some feedback on his arm designs.

That fair enough. I do really love that Cad work on the arms. Interesting stuff.

And thank you for that. I am hoping some parts of this idea get into the design. Alex seemed to like the idea (I tweeted him about it). Atleast the housing and idea of the weapons not sticking out in open as almost every mech has now. There is also the fact that Alex will make what ever I do look like a child's family drawing artisctily speaking lol. Either way I am just trying to help with what would be a nice look for all.

So, the irony of this statement is that the Mad Cat Mk.II is pretty much the opposite of that statement. As noted in TRO 3067 (linked by CK16 here):
  • "By basing their new design upon an existing BattleMech, the Diamond Shark engineers cut their development time sharply, putting the Mad Cat Mk.II into full-scale production in less than fifteen months."
  • "Interestingly, the Clan's technicians chose to equip this BattleMech with weapons from its oldest Brian Caches."
  • "While the Mad Cat Mk.II has now been in production for more than half a decade, very few Clans are actually fielding this conventional BattleMech. Clans Wolf and Jade Falcon, both obvious candidates for sales, have purchased none; neither has Clan Ice Hellion or even Clan Steel Viper (though all field a few won through various Trials). Only Clan Nova Cat fields any significant number."
  • "Surprisingly, quite a few have turned up in servicewithin both the Draconis Combine and the former Federated Commonwealth statesparticularly uring the final battles on Prosperina".
The clans made many innovations between the initial invasion (3050) and the introduction of the Mad Cat Mk.II (3062):
  • Clan Jade Falcon introduces Laser Heat Sinks. (3051)
  • Clan Wolf introduce the Full-Head Ejection System. (3052)
  • Clan Wolf unveils Light Target Acquisition Gear. (3054)
  • Clan Coyote introduces the Advanced Tactical Missile System (ATM) 3. (3054)
  • Clan Coyote introduces the ATM 6. (3054)
  • Clan Coyote introduces the ATM 9. (3054)
  • Clan Coyote introduces the ATM 12. (3055)
  • Clan Steel Viper introduces the Coolant Pod. (3056)
  • Clan Hell's Horses develop the Chemical Small Laser. (3057)
  • Clan Hell's Horses develop the Chemical Medium Laser. (3057)
  • Clan Hell's Horses develop the Chemical Large Laser. (3057)
  • Clan Wolf introduces the ER Pulse Laser. (3057)
  • Clan Coyote introduces the Streak LRM-5. (3057)
  • Clan Coyote introduces the Streak LRM-10. (3057)
  • Clan Coyote introduces the Streak LRM-15. (3057)
  • Clan Coyote introduces the Streak LRM-20. (3057)
  • Clan Diamond Shark introduces the 'Mech HarJel System. (3059)
  • Clan Star Adder introduces the Heavy Large Laser. (3059)
  • Clan Star Adder introduces the Heavy Medium Laser. (3059)
  • Clan Star Adder introduces the Heavy Small Laser. (3059)
  • Clan Smoke Jaguar creates the Heavy Machine Gun. (3059)
  • Clan Smoke Jaguar creates the Light Machine Gun. (3060)
  • Clan Smoke Jaguar creates the ER Micro Laser. (3060)
  • Clan Smoke Jaguar creates the Micro Pulse Laser. (3060)
  • Clan Hell's Horses introduce the Artemis V Fire-Control System. (3061)
  • Clan Diamond Shark introduce Armored Components system. (3061)
  • Clan Jade Falcon produce Laser Reflective Armor. (3061)
  • Several different 'Mech chassis were introduced by the Clans between 3050 and 3062.
Note, that the primary variant of the Mad Cat Mk.II makes use of exactly none of those innovations, instead focusing on export sales to the would-be hostile forces (that is, from the Clans (CDS) to the IS) by aping an existing popular chassis' design (the original Mad Cat) and outfitting it with outmoded weapon and systems. As such, it is NOT "a symbol of how the Clans changed and adapted to the new battlefields".

Well I was referring to it's general build and not the tech. I should state that there are mechs in the 3060's, 3070's, 3080's, 3090's, 3100's, etc that still use all the tech from 3050 and are still good and contemporary...

Which is shocking as with new MW: O rules for adding mechs we can add some 3100 mechs if we wanted... which I would rather not

The reason people don't play CW is simple. The maps suck. The game modes suck, and the lack of a player base within it suck.

I love the maps. I do not mind the game modes. But being put up against 12 man team of stalkers is not what I call fun.

Kindve jumping the gun since theres no evidence the MK2 will ever be in the game.

And hopefully it wont be added ever. Because then people might STFU about it.

Raptor, 3052. It isn't out of timeline. That's a thing we can add anytime we want and no one will be upset... besides IS freebirths learning that Omnimechs are not OP

I just want it because it is derpy looking and can carry a lot of guns. Being an Omni is an interesting foot-note. :P

Early IS Omni-mechs? No thank you.

So many of them are such trash... SHS, standard engines, over sized XL's, under sized XL's, sometimes Endo or FF, rarely both.... Some later Omni-mechs get interesting...

Centurion
Firestarter
Blackjacks

Later those three get Omni-mech versions...

It is the first omni. I already pulled the idea to Russ and he responded that it is interesting but won't happen before CW 3.0

Raptor is the ONLY one in timeline and is important as it is the FIRST in lore, why not make it the FIRST in MW: O?

Centurion, FIrestarter, Blackjack II, are all mechs we have in game so having a 2nd version is less appealing than a brand new mech. On other news...

The Raptor has DHS, the Raptor has XL engine, it's a little undersized by IS standards but it's still faster than the iconic kitfox, mist lynx, adder, and is the same speed as the Arctic cheetah more or less.
And it DOES have Endo.

I would sooner see the avatar, hauptmann, sunder, Men-shen, etc before those 3 you suggested.

Firestarter Omni is basically a Vidicator. Blackjack Omni is an even worse Jager than the Rifleman; it's a worse Blackjack than the Blackjack, too.

Centurion will be excellent, since it's basically identical to how the BattleMech version is run. Actually, that sort of makes it pointless.

Raptor is at capable of bringing a lot of firepower for a Light, something the MLX cannot do. And it's tiny. Tiny!

The Sunder is going to spread damage very well, being essentially a cylinder with poking out. Its speed is respectable for a 90 tonner.

Avatar is...a bit underwhelming. A slow, squishy Cataphract with more damage spreadable hit-boxes. Meh.

Blackhawk-KU is a Nova. It'll be about as good as a Nova, only dead from one ST.

And the rest are hideous to look at and I don't care about them. :)

Avatar is one of my favourite mechs. Locked XL is certainly not ideal but solid hardpoints, jumpjets, and being a 70 tonner (closest to the ideal mech weight) all favour it.

IS omnis are very interesting, because alot of them are totally awesome, and some of them are utter crap.

Just saying, this is the latest artwork for it (this specifically being raptor II however we can expect that brick with legs up there may be a bit cooler than you expected.

I want the brick with legs. I loathe the Raptor II, since it's basically a Raven. If it looked like the latter, I would quit the game.

Hey, you have your 'Mechs you like and I have mine.

A Raptor II is a different 'Mech anyway. I don't mind them embellishing the brick, but I do not want that pointy-faced piece of sh*t.

Would you say that people who prefer the Battlemaster with the bubble cockpit also have issues?

Because it's exactly analogous.

Yes if they start cursing at the mere concept of the change as well as claiming they will quit the game immediately if that comes in game: even though if it never comes in game you have no problem.
In the battlemaster situation it's only the cockpit mentioned here, could be changed with alt geo easily and such.nothing to fuss about.

The Raptor art you got up there- the original one. is rather out dated. Much like say the Banshee..
Posted Image
This is the original banshee. Many do not like how it looks like. However many both original fans and like the new redesign.
Posted Image

Most of the time the mechs take up looks of the latest art... ie look at the kodiak, Raven, etc.
It is highly unlikely the Raptor will not look like a derp. and it is possible it would be pointed. possibly but not guaranteed.

A.) Relax, it's called hyperbole, I'm not literally going to quit the game, I'm just not going to buy it and will resent them for taking a 'Mech I've been wanting to buy and making it completely unappealing to me.

B.) The Raptor II is not updated art for the Raptor, it's an entirely different 'Mech. It's not manufactured by the same company, it shares no architecture, and it doesn't even fill the same combat role. There is no reason for the Raptor look like a Raptor II.

C.) I said I'm fine with them embellishing the design, just like they have done for literally every other 'Mech in this game, but I want it to be in the spirit of the original Raptor since, you know, see B.

D.) Some people feel strongly about the Battlemaster's bubble cockpit (personally, I think the bubble is stupid looking); how large a part of the 'Mech it is is irrelevant, it's the concept of certain features on a favorite 'Mech being repulsive and disappointing fans who have been looking forward to its entry in the game.
