Lots of us are for sized hard points.
Tabletop and fps could work together far more closely but it requires realizations that most don't seem to see. TT is a summary of events in each 10 seconds not a literal Bible. You can make any 10 second period fit into TT, and you can flesh out 10 second instances from TT into real time when acknowledging TT as a summary.
Too many people take TT's rated use summary of a weapon as what it must do. Example any medium laser. One pew and 5 damage? Pfft... Actual rated firepower (5 damage) is in megawatts but descriptions are in megajoules which are smaller much smaller amounts, and tallies of shots come out to the full power. So one shot and one hit in TT is actually several shots and hits but who has time to make a dozen plus rolls of the dice for every time you use 3 or 4 lasers? Imagine if you had 3 mechs? Imagine 12 mechs per player now. Thus the summary. Pgi didn't clue in and so we have insanely high alpha damage and very high heat thresholds.
Far as catapults my favorite too.
Often unknown catapult facts.
Catapults are based on the MLRS. Tabletop's grids are as well as is minimum range. Look at MLRS stats. 30 and 180 come up in meters. Accurate to 30 meters and 180 minimum range.
Catapults come in two forms. Squat (classic short leg) and stilted (extra long legs).
Despite frequent depictions the actual size of the body of the original design is that of a full size "Ford transit van". The 2015 model is a pretty accurate comparison. Mind you that room is consumed by the engine ammo and such. The missiles could fit our FIM92 stingers, and there is 192 per ton which includes storage bin and feeder equipment.
The catapult is one of many mechs that doesn't have torso twist in BT. Much like some tanks do not feature turrets. Specifically, the legs are mounted directly to the body.
