I keep an eye out for people I wish to kill in game, but there are a few out there I would pay handsomely to see crushed under someones mech boot repeatedly.Posted Image

I think there would be a LOT of bounties taken out :D

Those of us forum warriors with "fanclubs" would rack up some sweet cbills if we could collect on failed bounty attempts :P

I would NOT have any indication of whom the Bounty is on, be it naming or a different reticle.

Why? Because we get enough "squirrel chasing" behavior and selfish play in challenges and we don't need yet another incentive to go YOLO.

Instead I'd like the announcement "X Bounty/s on player/s available" at the start of the match. Don't specifically identify them until they are killed, then announce "Player X claimed Bounty on TLBFestus, Die you scum sucker DIE- ". The last part being a personalized message from the issuer of the Bounty just to make it more personal.

Of course you can't have vulgarity riddled messages so as the issuer of the bounty you might only get to choose from a drop down window of options for insults.

That'd be cool. No give away of who it's on to avoid the afore mentioned "squirrel" issues, plus acknowledgement of the kill and a message.

I'd really like to be able to dispense "participant ribbons" to players as a final insult though. At the very least I'd want it as a cockpit item.

I can see it as another game mode, one random player on each side is worth extra c-bills (double kill value or more), that player is reviled to both sides at the start of the match, your team must protect your player with the bounty or lose the match.

That would be interesting as well. Maybe, to prevent the whole squirrel issue, you could set it up so that if the pilot with the bounty on their team survives, they get a bonus to their cbills as well based on the size of the bounty?

YOu could also do it on the flipside, even if you don't "actively" participate in the bounty hunt but it's collected in your game AND your team wins you get a bonus of the same size based on the bounty?

I dunno, just some quick thoughts on how to help prevent it becoming the main "objective" in a game. Team rewards and rewards for teamwork generally encourage players to work together more.

What do you guys think?

I really like the idea, but I can definitely see selfish behaviour coming about as a result regardless of what other things you put in. The other part of it is that unless you're really really good, you will die in roughly 50% of your games, making bounties pretty pointless as they will be exhausted nearly immediately.

Now if we had Solaris and could bet on match outcomes, then this could get much more interesting

I'd love to see that implemented as well. Little things like that create a more vibrant and active community and help create retention

pfff a chick threatened to send her friends (the kind of guys with knifecuts) to get me after i uncovered her to her boyfriend that i was the OTHER guy and just like the ones here.....nothing happened.

This a great idea and looking forward to it. Looking forward to walking around the mechbay even more though at the least. So while this would be awesome its way down the list of the various missing features I consider most important anyway.

Rightly implemented (with thought out limitations - a need to accept a bounty in advance, fees for setting a bounty, opt-in required, time limit etc. etc.) this would be a very nice addition.

Or, bypass the player needed initilization.

Every match has someone who is a bounty. Call it RNG.

If that person is killed, the Killer gets a sizeable bonus, and everyone who helped gets an assist bounty.

If that person lives, THEY get an equal bonus that is given to the killer, and the whole team gets a defending bonus.
