As in the last thread, I just requested an express ticket to K-Town. Now, I wonder if I will again get a ticket to the Twilight Zone instead. <maniacal Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image>

well, it was always said, this game isn't a pay to win, but if he is letting cheats stay because they spend big money, then yes it is a pay to win because we can cheat and get away with it because we got the $$$. I just want to know, how much do we have to spend to get this privilege.

I got over $1000 plus pumped into this game. Will that give me the privilege?

If your account is banned can you even request a refund?

You can have any undelivered content refunded. After delivery, all bets are off.

You cheat, you should be banned, that's all that needs to be said really. No but's, no it was only that once, you take the risk and get caught then pay for it.

You just go to your bank explain the situation and tell them you have been robbed. Pretty good chance the bank will reverse the transactions for you, depending of course on local laws. If you country has buyer protection laws you cant just snatch peoples stuff away. Its been tryed before.

And then the bank calls PGI. PGI says, "They broke the TOS of their agreement, so we deactivated the account. It says right here in this legal document that if a person breaks the TOS of their agreement, we are not required to refund purchased items."

Then the happy hacker, 2-3 weeks later, having already spent the money he was refunded by the bank, gets a notification that his money was not stolen, and that he now owes the bank ___ money.

How many banned hackers does it take to make a Ban Wave?

The tin foil hat wearing morons who think that just because they aren't going to ban everyone at once publicly means that they aren't going to ban anyone are hilarious. Get over it, they never said they are allowing people to cheat without banning them.

Wrong - in the last townhall Russ stated that they have a chance to monitor and investigate cheaters. He stated in January that they have a list of cheaters. If only one of them is still playing they are actually allowing them to cheat to play a cat mouse game with the cheat program developers. If that is the case detected cheaters might be ruining other peoples games right now.

I strongly suspect that Paul was intentionally playing down their efforts to combat cheaters, hackers, etc. If you paid close attention, they clearly knew who was responsible and what methods they're using. There'll be a ban wave. We might not know about it, we might not know who cheated, but it's coming.

Or, they are playing it down because, like so many other things they should be doing, it's all too much effort and they'd rather just spend their resources making new Mech skins.

So, to manage expectations, they ask us to take comfort because "there aren't many cheaters" and "there are going to be lots of small bans in the background".

Yeah, right.

When we notice any well-known players banned, we may have more confidence that there is actually any work going on to address the problem.

Until then, PGI has taught me over many years to remain sceptical about their commitments on anything other than the arrival of new Mech skins.

I think they should not wait one more day for banning a confirmed cheater.

Regardless of my opinion on the subject I have to give PGI some credit here.

I know a cheater I reported that got banned first hand. He was a lancemate of my former unit. And he spent thousands of dollars into the game.-----> I reported, they investigated, he got banned, no matter how much money he spent.

Russ: "Kids, don't use 3rd-party programs. You're going to lose your account. Don't do it. Not worth it. We've had accounts with literally thousands of dollars get banned." We're a small community all-in-all, so it's not a lot of people, overall percentage not any different than larger games, but come on people don't cheat

https://www.reddit.c..._summary_recap/

We are not talking about 1%... more like 15%-25% of players who cheat in MWO.

View PostEl Bandito, on 01 March 2016 - 07:32 PM, said:

EULA clearly states that as long as the player breaks conduct, such as cheating, PGI is free to do whatever they please with his account. There should not be refund--unless it was a pre-purchase.

PGI should put the cheaters' accounts for auction, so they can continue to earn money off of them!

So why do they choose to do nothing?

definitely still want a ban wave - its odd how i play with friends, we get into a game and someone say "watch out, that guy is a well known aimbotter"

4 minutes later, 3 of us got headshotted within 20 seconds - then 2 more in the span of a minute as they were trying to hide from that one person while still attempting to fight the enemy team, obviously a futile attempt

now, i wonder how can the game have a "well known aimbotters" if cheaters are not a problem

yes, ban wave - a PERPETUAL one

I've been playing since MWO joined steam and have personally seen two hackers since then... Teleporting across the map perfectly then shooting totally fine then teleporting away again... no latency in battle others seeing it as well..

I've seen people know exactly where i am at all times from halfway across the map and pop up to perfect head shots..

No hackers get banned so why even bother playing such a bias game... i regret spending money on this game, and the developers should be ashamed..

Instead of a complete ban, give cheaters access only to the training grounds. That way you are still technically letting them use the goods they purchased. Posted Image

i've just been informed and shown how PGI has banned a whale over 8 months ago that wasn't part of the 1st Ban Wave.

so long as PGI is doing the work behind the scenes i can now say to myself well perhaps they do have it working as intended.
