i've just been informed and shown how PGI has banned a whale over 8 months ago that wasn't part of the 1st Ban Wave.

so long as PGI is doing the work behind the scenes i can now say to myself well perhaps they do have it working as intended.

If a player uses a cheat to ruin countless matches for possible thousands of players I don't think anonymous banning is fair. This is just more unfairness added on top. Why have this sort of thing covered up?

As long as they are doing their best to prevent cheating, I don't really care if it's in the form of a ban wave or whatever.

They should do whatever is most effective, not what is most crowd pleasing.

I know what ya mean but atm i have a few warning for naming and shaming and they could maybe claim thats it's a breach of ToS and thus ban me from the forums so i'm not gonna be able to say who.

Though i can say the person in question wans't in the 1st wave of bans, he did own 2 gold mechs and every mech pack that had come out. So if there gonna ban a whale like him for cheating then i guess we can all be confident they will ban as needed those who are cheating regardless of there whale status.

If the hackers have their way, the only crowd remaining will be cheats. Seriously.

If they delete this topic fine. But this is an issue in game to a degree and it not being on the forums is not cool.

How many people, are now because of the way P.G.I are handling, or not, as they seem to be taking more action delleting threads about them going back on acting against cheats, than they did against the actual cheats, feel like continuing to spend money on their hacker haven game ?

You have a point. By all appearances more effort is being put into covering up complaints and the trolling those complaints get than anything else. Fact.

I will say this to. If any cheats think they can get legit players banned in all of this it will be a swarming.

If there's a ban wave, like promised, it needs to be done BEFORE the Archer drops. They can't deliver paid content and then ban players - it just looks bad. And, whether it's valid or not, it will tie up the support staff dealing with refund requests on undelivered content forfeited when banned. That's a lot of wasted man-hours, PGI, and you'll lose more money that way than you will from refunded purchases.

Ban them now, refund their money. If it's truly 1%-2%, that's not a huge hit to the bottom line. Let them create alternate accounts, maybe even make the weekend before the Archer launch another early adopter purchase window, like "last chance" sort of thing (not as good as the original early adopter rewards, but something). They have their money back, maybe they will repurchase, then there's no money lost at all.

I honestly don't know the details of how this game goes about it even though its the only game I play much. But I seen on youtube how CSGO does it and they have players getting banned mid match let alone waiting around.

Hey,
I have an idea. Lets discuss moderation, disciplinary or other sanctions that PGI has done so that we can get yet another thread removed for violating the CoC.

Or we could look at pictures of puppies:

PUPPIES!

I don't buy the idea that the game is a "hacker haven" but your underlying premise is THEE issue. Russ/PGI implying that there are loads of cheaters, and then turning about face at the town hall and asserting that there really aren't that many and monitoring them is better, etc. Just sends an absolutely terrible message and certainly does nothing to help the game's standing, or its ability to attract new players or investment.

Make a tier0, let them only play with other tier0 and put all cheaters in tier0.
No problem with refunds.
Win/Win for pgi and us

And maybe some big laughs,
if russ would show some of the tier0 matches in the townhall,
2 or 3 month after they installed it.

Considering I had a round just last night where someone knew everywhere we would poke from... then we had one AFK... and literally as I finish typing "hes afk, but you probably already know where he is..." He was getting killed... yeah. Wish my cpu could handle a recording service while playing.

If you announce that you're going to do something publicly and then a while afterwards decide not to, you're just asking for people distrusting you. It's just that simple really. But we're talking about PGI here so I guess it's a Tuesday for them.

ok just had a strange game yesterday, now I am convinced: there are cheaters everywhere!
In my closet, in my head!!

I realized this is a cheater haven and no matter how many lurms I fire, some people will always be able to kill me - you guessed right, because of their evil hax.

So ggclose PGI, I was about to spend 5000 Dollars on this game - now I know better of course.
