Kit Fox is my favorite light mech. I love playing supportive mechs. You have to get 3 kit foxes to get elite and master tier. check the center torsos of each variant to see what is the best for you. Other than that it's an omnimech, so you can switch all components as you like.

I run this build almost exclusively: ECM, 3x AMS (2,5t ammo), 3x Med Pulse Laser, 4x MG (1ton ammo), active probe and two Jump Jets. I sometimes switch to normal medium lasers to use KFX-S Legs to get more jump jets. -C Arms, -S side torsos and -Prime Legs.

3x pulse and 4x MG is plenty of firepower for a light mech along with the ultimate toolbox KFX-C right arm Posted Image

Modules....I run adv. sensor range and adv. target decay for scouting purposes and AMS and laser module in the weapon slots.

I also had fun with KFX-D and stock layout. nastly little LRM boat.

KFX-S is based around Jump Jets and Lasers
KFX-D is LRMs and maybe NARC if you like it (Quirks).
KFX-C is the ECM/AMS toolbox support mech

Early game I like to scout, but later run around with the big mechs to provide ECM and AMS cover as well as damage support.

Try the KFX-D with 4x SRM4 or 4x SRM6. It's an amazingly nasty ambush mech.

my favorite KTX is the KTX S with 1 lrg pulse, 2 med pulse, and ecm.

one time i got seven kills
there has been a quite a few times in CW that i have done 500dmg+, once even 1000dmg
the KTFX seems inferior, but its not, if you mount ECM, and do what its original purpose was in the lore, a long mid range sniper

you can put JJ'S on it, but i took em off for moar heatsinks
enjoy :) KFX-S

It's possible to make them ECM snipers, but their hardpoint positions and body shape aren't favourable for it. You either get a low single arm mount, or an even lower double arm mount. In addition, they aren't fast enough to escape trouble if they are alone (which ECM snipers usually are), nor do they have adequate cooling for a sustained brawl if you need to escape. If an enemy brawling light gets to you, you're dead.

The right side arm, which is higher by a tiny amount, only has one E hardpoint if you go with ECM. The left side arm, which has two E hardpoints, has them even lower than the right. So you end up with a mech that can't hill-poke without getting torn to bits (you end up exposing all of your CT, STs and arms trying to hill hump), has to expose a very large profile to the enemy in trying to side-poke (expose half CT, one ST and one arm, with a wide frontal profile), and is fragile (E-boat left arm has only minor struct quirks, and is very easily ripped off).

The best part about the Kit Fox is its perception as a (relatively) harmless mech. You don't need ECM if you can sit among heavies and assaults and be virtually unnoticed. Bring something cold that hits hard, and you'll profit.

Hmm i have the Prime that needs a build. Got any ideas on how to build it along that line?

Trollbuild or real build? Using prime-only parts? One of the better builds I've found for something that works along those lines is actually a very mixed build.

Firefox Prime

Follow your heavies and assaults. If a light tries to engage them, heat them up till they shut down. Then pound their rear CT with your UAC10. Alternatively, follow your assaults into a brawl and help them shut down the opposing assaults or heavies.

The other way that this mech could be built:

BoomFox

It's a semi-troll build, and no, that UAC/20 RA with 4 armor is NOT a typo. It has a +20 armor quirk on it which makes it about as tanky as a centurion's shield arm when it has full armor. If you feel like this build requires a big brass pair, that's because it does. I've hidden in the shadow of a DWF before with it, raining UAC20 shells while the DWF is actually only firing UAC2's, and the enemies all thought the DWF was doing the damage. It's amazingly stealthy. If you want to lose half a ton of ammo for full RA armor, that's also possible, giving you an unrivaled 40 RA armor + 10hp internal structure. For a light's arm, this is AMAZINGLY durable. Note that your LT and LA are used for deadsiding; the KFX-D LA has stupid armor quirks as well, which you can use to give yourself a proper shield arm (+10 armor, +10 structure)

SplatFox-4

This one still remains my most favoured KFX though. It has amazing damage potential, and unlike the SRM6x6 Jenner IIC builds, it actually has very good heat management. You can use this and rain damage all day long without even caring too much about heat.

well i do have a spare Clan Uac 20. I run Locusts and a fair few lights. I've got brass down there.

also you can use parts from other Kit foxes. I can grind the money. i'm 2/3rd's through to buy my 3rd Kit fox.

Also, for better stealth, use a non-threatening colour scheme. I've painted mine to have a white belly and an orange back, kind of like an actual fox. Threat level -9001. For best results, stand next to a pink atlas or a watermelon direwhale.

If you want to get a LOT of attention, paint it pink. A hot pink fox always gets all the dakka.

Also for the paint job. What camo and colour scheme did you use? I have oranges, whites and browns for the fox like colour.

with the boomfox i has .2 tons left over. this was with adding extra armor to the gun arm. so i've added 3 armor to the "shield" left arm. the build costed me 30K cbills.

The best KFX I've managed to build:

LPulse + 2 ERML

My KFX-Prime(G) sits permanently ready like this in my hanger, all moduled up eagerly awaiting the rescale.

Okay done the Prime and it's fully basic'd. Fox With A Shotgun that BoomFox build is god tier. killed so many assaults with it and scared one guy as he asked if "that was a Kit Fox with a Uac 20?"

Now i wonder which one to get next. Should i get the missile Kit Fox or the other one? I have the Prime and C.

Missile kit fox was a blast for me to play. It's quite similar to the UAC20 kitfox, but with even more damage - something in the vicinity of 12-14 dps in spikes of 32 or 48 damage. Boat SRM6x4 or SRM4x4 and you're good to go. Since it has spread reduction quirks, it works well even without Artemis. Very easy to rack up 700-1000 damage in a match with it, if your assaults aren't cowards.

Would you be able to make a smurfy build of it please?

One of my earlier posts has a SRMFox 4x4. It's that one.

Edit: SplatFox-4. SplatFox-6 is the same, but with SRM6 instead of SRM4.
