You say that token special variant needs resources and dev time so it can't be done, and at the same you say they need to include more features and more revenue options which DO NEED dev time and resources.... so which is it?
Ability to choose your special variant would mean more sales for them.

I didn't say it could not be done, I did say it needed resources.

I did say they need more valid revenue streams to obviate the reliance on mech packs and reduce the costs. That is a big complaint right?

So put the two against each other. Work on an item that will at inception suffer from the law of diminishing returns OR develop new revenue streams that increase overall income and remove reliance on mech sales? Hmmmm.

But you forget that people contend PGI has unlimited, non-competing resources so why not both?

actually, I don't know anyone with a brain that contends they have "unlimited" noncompeting resources.

What people do contended is that assets in one aspect of the game don't just magically row the skill set to move elsewhere, nor can any business simply lay off one set of resources to hire more in another source.

Anyone with half a brain can tell that PGI has very finite resources. Simply that one cannot magically shift one set to cover another.

Oh...oh wait, sorry, I see the problem you're having now.

it is the normal price of every pack, if you look at most mulit chassis packs, ie clans, each chassis costs 20 bucks. It is the price they put on it for the time and effort it takes the designers, coders, riggers, artists, etc to put into making each mech. Even though each mech has a different weight, they still cost about the same amount in man hours to make, so the value may not be perceived by us, but in the end, they get a flat fee for making each mech, instead of doubling a light mechs price for a heavy mech, to me would be crap since it took the same time to create.

Why Does The UrbanMech And Phoenix Hawk Cost The Same Amount Of Dollars?

You should ask this. I'm wondering why no one came up with this. We paid 20$/40$ pack price for the Urbanmech, and that is a 30 ton light mech.

But did you see anyone complaining that the Maurauder with 75tons was too cheap with the same pricing? Of course not.

You could see it this way, you get a heavy mech for the price of a light mech!

And now you get a medium mech for that price!

It is not that I like the price, though. Or the big package which leaves me scratching my head (I mean what do you want with 7 phx hawks? It's all the same mech?). Or the overall costs these days.
But it is the same price for all kind of mechs since the urbanmech, even the mentioned kodiak was way to cheap if you compare it.

Because assault 'Mechs are not supposed to be "better" than other weight classes - according to PGI. Besides, they both took roughly the same amount of staff time to create and use roughly the same number of pixels.

According to PGI and their idea, beliefs, and target.

A 20 ton mech should be as good and viable as a 100 ton mech.

Count this person out.

Whilst the change from pack to individual seemed ok at first and also understandable considering the new releases wouldn't be 1 of each class, this here is one whale who will no longer be participating.

Other than founders which I couldn't buy due to financial constraints at the time, I have bought every single top tier pack right up until the IIc.

Phoenix - Bought + Overlord
Wave I - Bought
Wave II - Bought
Wave III - Bought
Res I - Bought
Res II - Bought
Urbz - Bought
IIc - Skipped. To this day I still don't own a single IIc mech.
MAD - Bought
WHM - Bought
RFL - Lol Roflman no
ARC - Maybe
KDK - No... but maybe. Not a fan of IIc in MWO.
PHX - Not a chance even if my money was going to save a dying orphan.

Consider this whale well and truly beached.

For me it's more like...
FOunders - I wish, no payment methods, no PC to run MW: O with, etc...
Phoenix - Gifted
Wave I - wish I had some mechs...
Wave II - Bought (tier 3, hellbringer)
Wave III - Bought (tier 4, executioner)
Res I - I wish... I really like the zeus but the other mechs are meh... would like the panther too
Res II - Bought (tier 4, mauler)
Urbz - Bought (tier 1, urbie)
IIc - Bought (tier 4, highlander IIC)
MAD - Bought (tier 1, marauder, planning upgrade for sure)
WHM - I wish
RFL - I wish
ARC - I really wish
KDK - Tier 1 (kodiak) + Reinforcements, hoping to upgrade to kodiak collectors and hero soon ™
PHX - I wish

BTW I have to say the Kodiak is not a IIc mech btw.

I think the main worth of the money for this package is the fact the variants are ECM and MASC capable and you can get 2 heroes for dirt cheap... but meh. End of the day it's still much better value than the phoenix or ANY clan wave.. .etc.

Because PGI hates us and wants all our moneys.
