Once we have 50 people with the tag we'll open up a few more dropdeck variants.

We're at 36 presently.

41 now!

I personally am offended that urbies are not the official drop deck.

We all know the glory of their prowess and how they can decimate our enemies.

Ima join soon. I decided I preferred grasshoppers to black knights a week ago and dumped my Cbills on those, so it will be a while before I get enough Cbills to buy, master, and module the KNT's. So in 2 weeks I will hopefully be part of the club. After that on to Battlemasters and Urban Mechs!

You can use the GHR instead of the BLK.

Dane,
I am interested in the Stormtroopers once my current contract runs out. However I do not have grasshoppers or Black Knights, can I run this Warhammer instead ?

Right now it needs to be a BLK or GHR.

would it be ok if i waited for the stormtrooper decks to become a bit more lax? It will take me awhile to buy 3 quickdraws

No. That is the whole point of it not being lax. The fear that in the future people who just pick and choose decks that lack synergy will discover that they have no common deck to fall back on if things do get weird. And thus break the whole thing.

1 BLK/ GHR and 3 Quickdraw will always be required until the nerfs and patches alter meta. Think of that as the primary edition, it is what you need to be a stormtrooper, now we're going to start adding on 'expansions' like 2 GHR 2 QKD for instance, but guys who are running that will still need to first get the 1 GHR/3 QKD deck. This way we all have a common core.

I've been running a couple stormtrooper builds for solo pug drops, and they are every bit as insane as they seem to be in CW according to the videos :P

Only stumbling block is they use engines that, at least in my experience, tend to be uncommonly used. Like, 330XL over 320 or 340s, same with the XL350, over XL340s/XL360s. Which I assume will be the greatest speedbump on people trying to build the decks.

That being said, I've built the stormtrooper black knight (with its 350XL) and it is disgusting amazing at how good it is, and this is coming from someone that has a pathological hatred for the chassis.

I like the idea. I hope you'll keep things simple to encourage as many people as possible to get these. I am thinking you should only have four decks, with maybe a second variant for each deck. I suggest the next two be similar to "beserker" and then "dakka defence" per Sjorpha. That way you have the three main weapon types covered which also helps with future-proofing. Then one additional deck possibly: three heavies and a light (KNTx3+FS9), or an assault two heavies and a light (BLR, GHP, GHP, FS9).

...Atlas-S>Archer-5W>Griffin-3M>Oxide ... AS7-D-DC>CTF-0X>GRF-2N>Oxide (brawly Raven 3L?... but no JJ's...also can this deck take down a generator?)
...
Mauler-MX90>Jager-DD>Jager-S>CDA-3M
...

Once the crowd has 4 standard decks drop commanders can mix and match if they want.

I am going to buy some QDKs when i have the cbills - grindig time here i come ...

What about a unified paintjob like MischiefSC described and proposed to make it more difficult for the enemy to identify single mechs and their damaged parts? Something like all in white or black or ... "ootb-green"

I think the official name for it is "Please dont shoot me I a noob" Green. :) Honestly it is kinda cool seeing a bunch of pure white QDs charging the enemy.

2323 Runs white. It's pretty neat and immediately clear which are our troopers in the drop.

I still think white is literally the worst colour to choose if your goal is "everybody blend in with each other"... because once a white mech gets scraped with a laser, it becomes a black mass of ugly damage texture. Essentially, the white painting is helping your enemy identify which mechs are hurt and which are fresh.

If you're going to go with a uniform colour, use black or any colour that's very dark and hard to distinguish.
