Just have to look at the Missile quirks on Stalkers, Highlanders and Orions. to see how lame these quirks are.

The Marauder 6D the Jeager JM 6-A have better missile quirks than all the archers, except the Arc -2R (they are the same)

The Warhammer 7S has as good or better Missile Quirks than all Archers except again the Arc 2R.

I'm not big on massive quirks but Jesus Mary and Joseph, at least make the Archers quirks compare to other mechs that are supposed to carry LRM's.

This is yet another stunning example of P.G.I not having any consistency, and making themselves look stupid..and making the people that they rely on for jobs, exasperated and or angry at them.

The reason it was done was to make 5s a consideration even on mechs with few hardpoints (that can't boat LRMs to make up for it). The problem is they overnerfed the larger launcher with horrendous spread when the cooldown buff to the smaller launchers should've been enough.

Mad Dog Prime, twin LRM 20's with velocity bonus and Reload speeds of 20% - Beats the Archer running similar and with better laser support.

Lol not if you run lrm mechs. Bizarre structure quirks, weird mobility quirks and next to no lrm specific quirks or decent missile quirks. Hell my Warhammer 7s has better missile quirks than these mechs. Since when is a Warhammer supposed to be a good lrm boat? Seriously. Missile quirks in line with the catapult would be nice.

Edit: now Bishop wants to kill me for mentioning AC20. And knowing PGI, he might have point.

I don't know how THC-rich a compound you had to smoke to make that statement, but it's patently wrong.

LRM boats need to be mobile, but that's more a matter of "was I not utterly mental and decided 54kph was perfect for my Catapult"? That's engine rating. Accel/Decel are nice, but if you can't get the top speed decent, who cares? It sure as heck isn't high on the list as to slap 60% boosts on as "essential to lurming".

It's about accuracy first. Missile velocity. Cluster tightness. Those are the gold standard. Then cooldown and heat, because rate of fire. Those get the silver.

The Hunchback-4J? Good example of how this should work.

LRM 10 COOLDOWN: 15.00 % MISSILE COOLDOWN: 20.00 % MISSILE HEAT GENERATION: -10.00 % MISSILE VELOCITY: 10.00 % LASER DURATION: -15.00 % ACCELERATION RATE: 35.00 % DECELERATION RATE: 35.00 % TURN RATE: 15.00 % TORSO TURN RATE (YAW): 40.00 % ADDITIONAL ARMOR (RT): 12.00 ADDITIONAL STRUCTURE (RT): 12.00

It gets three of the four biggies- velocity, heat gen, cooldown - and the fourth is less a loss because it uses LRM 10s anyway. It gets modest reinforcement of it's launcher section. As missile boats go, it does it right.

Heck, let's compare the Archers to another missile heavy chassis in the heavy IS class, the Orion-VA.

Heck, we even get it all as generic buffs, not even LRMs! 25% cooldown. Velocity, heat gen. Again, three out of four. Given, that holy 4 for 4 grail is limited to really special snowflakes like the Trebuchet, but even the best Archer barely gets TWO. And even then, they're LRM specific and inferior to better, prior chassis.

They're actually inferior at their stated purposes, in durability and firepower alike.

I'm really fed up of these "when".

Why do you keep doing things that you know that are not balanced right now? As I said before, if you know that you have to look at the quirks (of all mechs) when the rescale and Ghost Heat 2.0 is done, why don't you gave the Archer proper quirks now and change as necessary when this new things get into the game?

Like Sader325 has said, why the Archer 2R has worse quirks than the Warhammer 7S when both has the same tonnage, number of hardpoints and similar placement? It makes no sense...
