They are good at certain situations involving ~450m engagement ranges.
Given how low most of the hardpoints are its really not "insanely OP". Come on Gyrok, don't exaggerate.

The Marauder certainly is capable and fun mech though. Certainly worth $20 without doubt. I know nothing of Grasshoppers.

Not quite, that large CT and low hardpoints give it a unique place. but not OP.
The grasshopper has higher mounts and JJ's which is nice.

Let me say this...
The last heavy mech I played where I felt like I epic failed a match if I did not get at least 3 kills was back when the 3D CTF ruled the skies as the best jump sniping heavy...

Marauder for tanking. Nothing takes hits better right now.
Other two are both really good but not as good as these two.

Well in pug queue when you can almost always get flanking angles so it is very strong. But to say that it is "the most insanely OP heavy mech in the game" is just ridiculous. There are some situations where it suffers greatly. People here find it sooo hard to grasp that just because a mech is really good at one thing, doesn't mean another mech will roast its shorts at another thing.
Enjoy it now, once the new heat scale comes through, it won't have a reason to exist.

The BK is the only one I haven't tried. The other three are all great. The Tbolt is deadly but boring. Marauder is tanky. GHopper is agile. I've gotten Ace of Spades twice in my Tbolt 9SE in the past few months, but again it's kinda boring. My Mad-BH2 has become my favorite heavy.

I've mastered them as soon as they came out, and it's been a pain in the.

So...you didn't play Timberwolves between Clan launch and mid-2015? Come on, now.
Actually, I can see where the TBR and SCR might not have felt like that...since just about everybody else was also running them and competition was high.

Not quite true. With the amount of people using certain programs, my Marauder seems to get cored without my sides ever getting touched no matter how much twisting I do.
So far I'm not impressed with my Marauders and feel they were a waste of money.
Also, if you shoot the head of a BK from any direction it counts a CT. Good tidbit of info.

You get 2 lolphas for 58 damage back to back super quick (3 if you burn a cool shot), it peeks better than any clan heavy, and with range modules and quirks you are effective out to the magic 500m range.
If you get into trouble when someone rushes you...they are already opened up and/or nearly dead already because they ate 116 damage on the way in...just chain fire LPLs on their open internals and kill them off...or roll the dice, hit override and pump them full of MLs.

Honestly, I enjoyed Clans at launch pretty well...but you have it right. They were every-freaking-where....
The CTF-3D was pretty common back in the Jump snipe days, but you still saw other heavy mechs routinely too...
Right now, the BK is so strong it is ridiculous...and you only see a few here and there...(a bit more frequently in the last 2-3 weeks...)...

Though I don't share your experience at all, you can hit the CT on the MAD from any direction but rear by shooting the center ridge.
That said, not getting hit in STs sounds like a great excuse to bring XL if you aren't already.

Well, you saw a lot of other non-3D heavies because the PPFLD jump-sniping meta had a steeper learning curve than laser vomit meta that replaced it. Snowball effect: less people in general running the meta, less compelling need to bring meta, less meta on the field. So when meta shows up, it cleans house.
Hell, just about any sane TBR build was carving things up for a whole year. Even the Clan laser heat nerfs weren't enough to level the field. It took a combination of powerful IS weapon and 'Mech quirks and de-buffs to Clan agility and range to upset the field
