I like how you used a game that isn't in the Mechwarrior Franchise... SMH

Riiight.

Because even though it featured FASA BattleMechs, yet didn't have the word "MechWarrior" in the title, that makes it an invalid example of how "just because something else was fun doesn't mean it should be introduced to MWO"...?

Well I can't argue with that logic ... because there isn't any.

Two key words:

Mechwarrior Series.

It isn't a part of it, and thus, should not be considered.

Even on the Battletech Wiki, you don't see it as a "Official Game System", and when searched, no result at all comes up for it.

Here's proof

Let's rewind a bit before you quote anything else irrelevant at me.

You said: "Because Mechwarrior4 had a respawn mode and people found it fun, MWO should introduce it".

I said: "The fact that something is fun in another game doesn't mean it should be introduced to MWO." I used MechInsult's Powerups as an example of something that some people found fun, but which most of us would not want to introduce to MWO.

I could have used any example from any game to make that point. For example, Heavy Gear's rollerskates. Or Hawken's transforming mechanic, or ... whatever. Or a crapton of the things that weren't so good about Mechwarrior 4 that we wouldn't want to introduce to MWO.

Whether MechInsult - a game which featured Mechwarriors fighting in FASA BattleMechs for BattleTech Factions in the BattleTech Universe - should or shouldn't be considered a MechWarrior title... is completely irrelevant to the point being made.

Let me rewind a bit more before you attempt to berate me anymore.

I said, specifically, to these quotes:

I don't support anything that would make MWO even more like a cheap arcade shooter.

Yet, MW4 has had this type of game mode... be it hyperbole or not, and people actually had fun...

My question is then, do you really even remember what the mechwarrior franchise was about in multiplayer terms?

I didn't say "Because Mechwarrior4 had a respawn mode and people found it fun, MWO should introduce it", I said, paraphrased, that people don't want this type of game mode, yet MW4 had such a mode, and people had fun with it.

And you said originally that "I don't support anything that would make MWO even more like a cheap arcade shooter."

So let's stop with the false accusations now, hmm?

The rest I read, seemed like filler information to me, irrelevant.

Tell you what. I'll go on the record and say that I will fully support respawn modes --IF-- PGI removes any objective (other than tdm/kill) from quick play and makes CW entirely about pitting teams against each other in campaign style warfare without nonsense respawns.

Quickplay can be the brain off mode to rambo in and kill each other (basically no change) and CW can be a mode built around actual tactical play. The people that just want call of duty with mech skins have their mode and the people that want actual MW/BT style play have our mode.
