They already talked about this and their Tier levels where quite different.
You have to take care: Most of them don't use their Dev Accounts that often.
Aaaaand you don't have to be Tier 1 or 2 in the game you are working on.

Though, they should play occasionally at all levels (using created Alts, seeded at a given Tier)
Not all Tiers play the same way...well, some times. The EXP bar doesn't really filter bad players from good players, but just the new from the old. Still, old players tend to play more proficiently.

Yea, but then there is a guy whining for the 8 flamers dire, and another one writing "lrm are gone too far"
Both 2012...

They fielded a team for MRBC which is 8v8.
Their results are here for Season 6 in EU Division E (competition gets harder the higher your division is): https://mrbcleague.c...ablearchivedata
They went 3-27 which places them last in the division, although I don't remember exactly which devs played. I know they played in the EU division due to time reasons.
Some of their matches are recorded at the bottom of their team page: https://mrbcleague.c....php?teamid=117
To be realistic though, I, and I don't think anyone else, expects the majority of PGI staff to be great at the game, and especially not for them to wreck face in competitive matches. Just for at least one or some to be reasonably good and listening to feedback from good players in the community (instead of whoever shouts loudest on Russ' twitter feed...)

depending on the time of day you see official dev accounts playing. Russ and Paul do drop, especially after patches. I've seen them quite often over the last year.
more so i think quit a few of them dropping in alts, knowing the player base it just seems reasonable to drop without the "shoot me" pgi tag.

Russ claims that he listens to a number of mysterious "comp" players which provide feedback on spawn points and weapon balance.
No wonder we have laser puke everywhere with no real heat penalty and useless as F* LRMs.

He doesn't. At least not the way you think. If he did you're more likely to see projectile gameplay more than lasers.
