Might feel good at first, but the end result isn't as pleasing.

And now you're forgetting the tripled+ damage, shifting the target yourself.
tripled damage only if you can hold your aim, otherwise it's still 3 separate shots. It appears most people outside the comp circles aren't very good at that.

I do notice that you flashed your Wang before it was given a Vasectomy by PGI

MWO mechs have double armor
a heavy mech can one-shot a heavy mech
imo the only occurence of one-shots we should have is an Assault unloading into a light or lighter medium mech... because right now its kind of nuts

yet the only "correct ways" to that fix seem to make our all important Comp Overlords (and the Tryhard wannabes) froth with rage.
A combination of imperfect convergence (if possible with HSR), Situation (and mild) CoF and Sway Mechanics, Hopefully this new Power Draw system, and an actual meaningful heatscale where you start seeing heat effects about half way up, instead of nothing until you hit shut down.
But actually adding realism elements (and IRL skill) is against the religion of your Pick a Pixel Gaming Crowd.

i would have these "comp overlords" and "tryhards" come here and tell me to my face that they want an arcade shooter out of MWO instead of a heavily skill dependent game
please, entertain me... and either prove me wrong or make me weep for the state of so called competitive gaming

Please don't ever play BT with 3025 or less mechs. You will hate how they all only have 2-3 weapons.

Hmm, but is the ability to accurately aim, hit, and get a kill, not the basis for a skill based game? Im all for CoF, but I don't think either one is more or less skill based than the other.

But then I guess if you did that to all IS Mechs, clans would deserve quirks then too, well, more than they have, which I know is little.

what i think we should have is not just CoF
its CoF dependant on movement speed and terrain effects, recoil of weapons, external impacts, affected by heat effects imparted or locally generated (high heat affects mech myomer muscles), electronic disruption, etc
you could still have absolute pinpoint accuracy if you stood still and gave the mech that little time to zero in while not overheating, or be capable of very accurate fire when not running at full speed - all affected by several factors including mech chassis and design/equipment
a mere dumb CoF would not cut it, it would be lame... it needs to be a system that makes sense and can be worked with by the skill of the pilot and the gear he decides to equip, and its not that hard to design it... just the fine tuning part would take a bit

IIC aren't hybrid. They are next generation versions of old IS Mechs that the Clans took with them during the Exodus. Similar to when the Military does a SLEP for an aircraft by updating it with newer technology to keep it service viable.
IICs are 100% Clan Mechs. Not IS making Clan Based version of IS MEchs, etc.

hence my use of the term "situational". I've spelled it out fully in other posts, and am too lazy to be bothered doing it again.

Maybe it does but I havnt seen one decent Archer pilot yet.
Seriously I am spectating an Archer with nothing but LRM's and he has no TAG and is just looking at the other team in plain sight...... Just brutal.
I may have seen one good Archer pilot but he didn't last long because of an XL so he doesn't count.

Hard to be a consistently decent pilot if your equipment sucks to begin with.
But there's a reason I don't stand in the open, pack Radar Derp, and my preferred loadout is 5xLRM5 and 4xSRM4 (nice symmetry that way, too). Unfortunately, on my preferred model,TAG is not an option, and trying to NARC crap in a moderately slow, easy to gimp mech makes packing a NARC pretty pointless.
Especially when your cockpit sits so low, that you can't "peek" at anything.

You say like that is a bad thing, but actually it's just a matter of taste how much realism you want in your game. Think about it, you play a game for 1-2 years, you like the game exactly how it is and suddenly the dev shakes the whole foundation to please certain part of his audience. You wouldn't be pissed if that happened?

Still doesnt cover why the Inner Sphere hasnt been able recover a single Clan engine and see how they get them to not explode when a torso flys off, its like one of the first purposes of war, recover enemy technology!

not when a significant number have pushed for it from the beginning. Not if I'm one of those crying about TTK... and actually see a real, thought out attempt to address that without just turning to the lazy approach of redoubling armor or halving weapon damage making everything into a long drawn out fight of papercuts.
People want arcade shooter, I got a copy of Mechassault 2 I can ship em.

Ah yes, and of course, they INSTANTLY can reverse engineer that!
Just like WWII scientists given a Vietnam era jet would have a working replica in no time!
speaking of posting nonsense.......
