Youre getting hit the entire time but you never looked in the direction of the red indicators that show up when you're hit from the back or sides.

Damn Color Blindness got me again. Now that folks have pointed out the ER LL beams that are a few microns in the color spectrum I see it now. However while actually playing had no chance of seeing it.

Kudosto the cicada, I had no clue he were there, and I do not usually die so cluelessly like that. The reason I did not turn towards the indicator is simple. My philosophy is avoid the direction of fire, and then go find him and pay him back for scratching my paint.

Thanks to every one who participated in this, it was really driving me nuts.

Another funny moment in MWO for me, they are getting fewer and fewer sadly.

He's in the H13 area. You never even look in the direction of the hit indicators... The red on the outside of your HUD tells you which direction the enemy fire is coming from...

Yet another reason why Lasers need totally reworked. Maybe its not a laser issue but lately I've been seeing phantom damage or no indication of incoming damage.

IMO ranges of lasers need halved.

It's actually more complicated than that, here's why:

You have weapons in this game that make a clear impact when they hit you, Autocannon's and PPCs. These weapons have a second purpose, they can actually make your opponent reel back from being hit, in effect they can be suppressed.

Compare that to lasers, the enemy doesn't quite have the same reaction to being hit by lasers. If you're trying to be all ninja-like, it can be to your advantage, though on the contrary lasers constantly point you back to their source, so they're only really half-ninja. But one thing is for certain, you can't really use lasers as a suppression weapon, and at times that can impact you negatively when you use them.

I guess more reason to play in Thermal ALL THE TIME on that map...

For some reason, on Polar Crylands you can see across the whole map in Thermal, no other map can you even see out past 450m.

not to mention, the contours of the land stand out better in thermal
