Basically, I like the direction Bishop's first piece was going.

Arms, IMO should be similar to MWO's Ebon Jag. In fact, IMO, the EBJ we got looks more like a mini Nightstar descendant than an actual EBJ (which should be squat as heck, too)

I was thinking the same thing. MWO's Ebon is pretty similar to what I think of when I think of a MWO Nightstar.

1 - close to Marauder design
2 - redesign

I agree the art is whew rough. This is quite the abortion of a mech since there are very few art renditions of it so i have to free style it to what i think works out. Ive given it so far some aspects of the marauder and ebon jag since this seems closely semi related.

Very nice. I really like the first one a lot. It's in the vein of what I envision this mech looking like. I also love the "face" and the feet. I dare say, the feet are perfect. (No foot fetish haha)
Thanks!

2 hours of starring at the paper and I still can't come up with something original.

Looks a bit way too much like a Ebon Jag silhouette wise. I would say make the lower torso more up into the upper torso i dunno some characteristic to it then just a mimic ya know?

that was actualyl the idea, since if you look at the few nightstar pics available, it seems pretty obviously the inspiration for Alex's Ebon Jag. And since I used the pose from the ebon Jag to frame it, not a huge shock, either. It's there for getting the rough bits sorted.
That said, it's also why it's a "rough" sketch. So that one can provide input to work from.
I actually feel like I would have more to work from if the Reseen Marauder was still the "official" to use as a base.
(Also, lots of mechs share a silhouette, just saying)

Yeah thats true. Dont get me wrong it looks really good but i think like how the minis has it, its kinda squatty looking.
Heres what i got; different angle from what your doing which is a good thing. Excuse the crappy phone camera. also may have to edit the right gauss to make it longerish.

looks good, just remember the difference between squat and "still able to realistically walk".
