I wanted to do a little test, to see where everyone's opinion is of what should be next as far as content for our game.

So today and for awhile, I'll be wanting to keep this thread alive long enough to get a good amount of people's opinion of what they want. After some time, with all the ideas said, I'll take each one and move them all into one poll for everyone to vote on. I won't say what happens next as I think this step is more important to work on first.

For example, it should be at most a sentence. If you have multiple that's okay, just make sure to mark them 1. , 2. , etc.

I'll start.

For me, I'd like to see a PVE campaign hit MWO.


Quick note: If this thread starts dying out I'll try and bump to get some attention to it.

PvE campaign.

Significant CW, err, FW update. Formal objection to "Faction Warfare " here. FW already taken for Forum Warfare, the most feature complete PvP environment the game currently offers. My FW deck is stellar.

Convergence/CoF based IW mechanic. That gives us more role warfare and deeper mechanics.

I want a sense of the game is engaging with me as much as I'm engaging with it. Captain Adams in the Academy was the best thing that's happened to this game since I started playing.

I'd love an interactive coop horde mode where the map evolved with each wave. A support character that would chime in and report enemy movements and mechs, background radio chatter of allied lances as if it was part of a larger engagement.

Dev tools in private matches or Testing Grounds.


The camera, and ability to change stats (or...gravity) as you want.
Make your proper TT stock, OP AF Clammers, or perhaps a more balanced vision of MWO for yourself or a league (where weapons can be adjusted...even on a map to map basis (instead of being outright banned, give the weapons a penalty or bonus))

As much as I would LOVE PVE. They really need to finish what they started.

1. Game modes and Objectives
2. More maps that are more planet specific in Faction Play
3. In game AI (tanks, infantry, aircraft)

Make better use of their maps, IE. more than just one spawn, base & cap location per map per game mode.

this plus

-PVE co-op campaign
-cone of fire, no pinpoint landing of all weapons fired
-CW that actually feels like
-end to funnel through gates CW
-full stock mode, whether its 3025 only dont care just a full stock mode (not private matches)

  • PVE single player campaign
  • PVE coop missions to be played with friends. Preferably survival mode (wave after wave of red doritos)
  • Solaris with Duncan Fisher (or a similar character, voiced by George Ledoux)
  • Melee. Even if it's just for PVE. I need the Axman. I need it, to defend my home planet.

In game AI is basically a pre-requisite for PvE anyways. A PvE campaign would certainly include infantry and tanks etc, so they're kind of a pre-requisite was well.

For content, I simply want an end game goal to use for the mechs I do own.

CW/FW is not that currently, and I get the feeling that Phase 3 will find a way to disappoint me.

There's no point to the game when all you're doing is buying mechs, and then have no reason to field them.

Agreed, making fighting for and holding planets important / give bonuses. More varied maps (like the idea of 4v4).

I still have never understood this whole "cone of fire" backing. Why not just makes weapons fire where they are actually pointing? I.E. The lasers in a Nova arm would hit in that "C" pattern. Arm actuators would give you that certain degree of "pinpoint", but at the cost of being low mounted. The Aiming reticule is just where a head weapon would hit. So Torso weapons would be completely learnable.

No pinpoint, but everything goes where you aim it, so long as you take the time to learn the weapon spacings. Also encourages chain fire for accurate shots, and punishes alphas, as weapons won't all hit the same spot.. ..because they go where they are pointed.
