Dragonfly is a bad mech anyway. They could have chosen something usefull instead.

I saw a topic about the Dragonfly / Viper, but wasn't said it should be a complete wave?
Sorry, I guess I should have included that info.
Russ has announced the Viper and will announce one more mech shortly. Probably another Clan mech. But he didn't want to do a full mech pack, because he couldn't find 4 mechs that he considered solid choices. He also talked a lot about how he didn't want to release all the cool mechs in Battletech instantly, probably refering to the Mad Cat 2. And he talked about maybe releasing several mechs from the same weight class, instead of 1-1-1-1.
This, to me, suggests that they're going to release another classic heavy mech or medium mech next. But they won't release the Kingfisher or any obscure assault mech, just for the sake of it, probably. Nor will they release another Clan light mech any time soon, unless they feel they have a really popular choice at hand.

SO we have to gimp the selection due to mythical "reasons" pretty sure the old MW games didn't have this issue.

Non-customized.
Hope you like House and Clan symbols and the PGI logo.
Fine by me. I remember what "customized" logos looked like in MW4. Unless they come up with a way to police what goes on there, it would get very ugly very fast.

That's easy enough:
- Submit decal to PGI volunteer staff.
- Wait for staff to approve it.
- Pay
to unlock your decal for yourself or the entire unit.
- Apply decal.

You have seen Russ and Dennis, yes?
It's no surprise to me that those two would worry about something like that.
Also let's be realistic, it's a game based on a tabletop game from the 80s about giant stompy robots with some of the most ridiculous lore you can imagine, silly and immature is a given.

- Russ confirms that there's no pink camo colour in the game because Russ & Dennis were worried that it'd make the game look too silly and immature. He may reconsider, they're going to discuss it.
There already is Pink camo in game

There are also plenty of 'reds' that are deep pink shade.
The S.A.S one of the thoughest, best trained special forces units in the world, went to war in desert camo pink when it was called the Long Ranged Desert Group.
This leads me to believe two things
Russ doesn't play the game as much as he claims, or at least he has a blind spot regarding 'non manly' colours
Second I'd really love to watch the result if Russ ever called a member of the S.A.S silly and immature

mech voting I felt caused resentment, however I suppose its better than having a few fanboi's of certain mechs endlessly lobbying for it on twitter.

Given that he works on the game 40+ hours per week, I don't hold it against him if he's not playing 10 hours per week on top of that. I mean, the dude is a president of a gaming company with 50-60 employees.
But this is just one of those things where PGI makes an arbitrary snap decision and then that decision stays in the game for 3+ years, because he doesn't think it's a big deal and doesn't understand why people care about it. I've lost count of all the times during Town Hall when Russ has gone "Oh, people actually care about that stuff? Huh."
I don't know what they have their Community Manager doing, but it doesn't seem like she's getting paid to spend a lot of time getting a sense of what the community wants. Because there's been a lot of issues that regular forum posters will be aware of, yet Russ & Co have been totally oblivious to them.

The Community Manager manages the community, that's the entire job. If they can do that without ever getting involved in the development process that's exactly what will happen because developers hate interacting with the community and they tend to not get along with coworkers whose job doesn't involve building stuff. Especially not when they try to tell them how to do their jobs.

Three hours of time to have one hour's worth of actual discussion. Lots of circular talking, and after the Phase 3 part I lost interest and my half sober eyes started to glaze over.
As for the Phase 3, we'll see how that turns out.
Yeah they do get rather meh, this isn't just a P.G.I thing, this is an everything like it, big company presentations are the same, 3 hours of boredom leading up to what some over weight CEO telling us, where not making the new line of cars pink, because we don't want people seeing them and thinking we are silly.
I missed the first 30 minutes and then stayed until just after the Viper announcement, so at five am I went to bed, and now I'm suffering from my stupidity as Tristan's summing up, covers everything worth reading and you can do that in five minutes.
I do want to finally in my fourth post in this thread, say thank you to Tristan for starting this thread.
