My only guess as they why people say they want more over engined mechs, is they are forced into the current laser vomit meta, and a lot of people seem unable to think on their own and use the other weapon systems.

Actually, the typical laser vomit Clan mechs are almost never used in competitive play, at least, not with the typical ER ML/cLPL vomit builds. They work fine for public queue and are reasonably versatile with laser vomit, but they don't really specialize in anything, which is why they are passed up, typically by IS mechs actually.

that's great but most people don't actually engage in competitive level play.

Plus you won't be able to out trade a Black Knight, Grasshopper, Battlemaster, ect.

But I really want to avoid this discussion though cause reasons of IS vs Clan bs ect.

Yup, but I bet a lot of the people wanting the mechs that are forced into laser vomit, do not play at competition level, and likely play a lot of PUG matches. I've been on the receiving end of matches against players in the 228/EMP/Lords/CSJ in my time here, and yea they are much, much better than me, or PUG's I've grouped with to face them. Me, I run more specialized builds, or closer to lore builds in PUGLife, and often do rather well, average games put me between 400-600 damage, with 4-5 KMDD (at least three of those are solo kills) with another 1-2 assists. I just don't move up much in PSR, due to me being efficient whit my damage, and not a lot of time to play.

Sure, I was just pointing out that Clan laser vomit isn't really that amazing right now. It works, like so many other things in the public queue, but there are other more specialized loadouts that perform better.

the laser vomit itself?Perhaps not. But for the GenPop, clan XL, clan DHS, etc, mean more than cutting edge meta.

Not disagreeing with you, but for the General population, PPC's are bad. And they are, if you can't aim and lead a target, but if you can do those things, they are actually rather good, same for the AC/10, if you can't aim or lead a target the UAC/5 is better.

I think they will end up doing the Nova Cat because of how popular it is, and it has in-timeline weapons on its variants, so I think it is very likely going to be the second heavy they release, and probably the last of these next 4 mechs.

Could be along the "Totem Mech" vein as the Kodiak...

Nova Cat isn't a totem mech though.

According to the sarna gods it is

Less justification was used to siphon jet fuel from an active runway with the intent of flying a pickup truck.

Sarna is pretty off (IMO) on the Totem Things..either that or they went in and retconned a ton of mechs into being "totem" mechs.

They started calling IS "signature" Mechs totem mechs for crap sake. Just dumb.

As I have said many times before, this is a controversial subject amongst BT nerds, but according to the BT devs, unless explicitly stated in the TRO, it is NOT a totem, despite Sarna's protests otherwise.

Signature mechs are also different from totems iirc.

Urbanmech IIC. Posted Image

Seriously, if this wasn't such a good mech to begin with, then the clans wouldn't have made a IIC one, with really minor changes. I know all the clammers out there are screaming to be able to run lances of urbies and join in the fun.

Depends on the weight class.
The BK is better than the Clan heavies at laser vomit, however the Hunchback IIC is the preferred mid-extreme range laser vomit medium.
Assaults and lights are similar, light laser vomit is dominated by Clans, while IS dominates assault laser vomit.
