Yea time again for a new "NEXT CLAN MECH" thread! We got more information from the Town Hall Russ mentioned he only had the option he felt of 2 medium and/or 2 heavy mechs. I think this is what we can expect the next 3 months is 1 more medium and 2 Heavies (probably next is heavy imo)

What is your guys predictions?

-P.S. Sorry Turkina and Kingfisher :/-

Probably Huntsman, maybe Pouncer (ok choice) or BLanner (nostalgic choice).

Night Gyr, maybe Linebacker or Nova Cat.

Don't know if you already noticed the next mech is the Viper. The art has already been posted.

Huntsman and Night Gyr would get my vote. I would prefer the Nova Cat over both, but they want to get through the existing timeline mechs first.

Russ said there will be a second mech announced this month (IS using old concept work), but he also mentioned another possible announcement at the start of may.

Them not wanting to do Clan Wave 4 will probably lead to us getting another Clan mech pretty soon after the Viper.

I hope it's a firemoth, but what I'm really crossing my fingers for is the next clan mech pack. So after the Viper, and whatever the next IS mech will be I really hope it will be the classic IIC's that most of us have been waiting for. This is what I want to see in the next clan mech pack.

Locust IIC

Shadow Hawk IIC

Rifleman IIC

Warhammer IIC

I'm really hoping that this is what they are working on, instead of another clan omni pack that probably most of us wont buy. Hopefully we can get some leaks during the May town hall, and perhaps a little more detail on what the next clan mech pack will exactly be.

Russ said probably no more packs period. He was saying that they were thinking a 4 pack before but only had options for 2 mediums and 2 heavies really. HE also said Clans are going to be going on a run here for mechs most likely. After the mid April IS mech we will probably get 3 more clans in a row similar to the Unseen if not 4, We just had 5 unseen Inner sphere mechs and 1 clan mech, It is time Clans a run here of several mechs in a row now sorry IS pals you had your turn.

That being said he made it sound like the next ones (that 4 they wanted for that odd pack) would have been Omni mechs so sorry IIC friends, but this way as well we get more options and not needing 4 omni's or 4 IIC's.

I'll frankly be shocked if the Vapor Eagle doesn't make it in.
Huntsman is the most logical Medium Omni (with Viper in, I don't feel the Pouncer or Phantom are "needed" anymore)

Heavies? Grizzly maybe for Battlemech, would love the Novacat for Omni, but it's not likely since Russ is pretty set on the 3053ish or earlier primary construction date. The cat starts at 3059, so I just don't see it. Night Gyr is the most likely Heavy Omni.

Packs are dead, decapitated, staked, with garlic shoved in the mouth, chief.

And good riddance.

Hence, being announced, it would no longer be the "next" for speculation, would it?

The best remaining pre-3054 mediums:

Pouncer (40t Adder, solid Mech)
Coyotl (40t mini Ebon Jaguar, first Omni-mech, not in current Clan forces)
Huntsman (50t, Swiss Army Knife Mech nearly 50% pod space)

Questionable mediums:

Black Lanner (55t, fast medium, less pod space than the 40t Coyotl)
Battle Cobra (40t, Standard Engine, heavily 'armed' )
Phantom (40t, brings new meaning to speed 360 cXL, little pod space)

Heavies are basically the Night Gry and Linebacker, sadly still a little while to go before the Nova Cat....

Who has nostalgia over the Black Lanner? I can only even think of one story/character it was ever featured with, Aidan Pryde's daughter when she fought for his blood name. I don't recall it being prominently featured or fan favorite in any other instance, though? (Not saying it isn't, but please fill in the blanks if I'm missing something in my lexicon)

Are you ONLY considering Omnis?

I personally think they should move the setting forward to give them a bigger field of choices to choose from. In moving the timeline forward they could fix CW so it's more streamlined to.

For that list yes, not enough time to go digging for the Battle Mechs right now.

Yes, as discussed in multiple other threads, that's a LOT easier said than done (it took 6 months to insert clan tech and another year to semi balance it) and there is a LOT of Future Tech involved in time line shifts.

More importantly, Russ has stated that it's not happening until he feels the bottom of the current era barrel has been scraped, so regardless of what you, me or the Pope may desire, it's irrelevant to the discussion bro.

And even in that case, she wasn't piloting the Black Lanner but fighting against it in her Nova. I can't think of any other instance either.

MW4 most likely, and if someone had seen the CCG artwork.

Eh.. I keep forgetting about mektek MW4... guess I never considered it "legit" enough to feel any nostalgia over it..thoguh I do admit their Supernova was pretty boss.

Good catch. Wasn't a very good book so I haven't reread it since it came out. (About half the twilight of the clans books were snooze fests, IMO, but I'm gonna commit sacrilege and say the Jade Phoenix trilogy is massively overrated, too)

I'm guessing we will get the Night Gyr announced at the end of April, then another medium, either Huntsman, Pouncer, or Black Lanner, then another heavy, where my money is on Nova Cat. After that, it might be time for Mad Cat Mk. II.
