The mektek disease to which I am referring, is making their creations often significantly better than the lore or vanilla mechs. Just wanted to clarify that, between scaling and torso blocking special sections (like chin racks), there often many mechs they created that were waves above some of the other stuff.

Sorry, I'm a couple pages behind on the discussion, but like I said, wanted to clarify some things.

Two of my close friends were MekTek founders and left over that. They wanted to stick with authenticity and others wanted to "improve" beyond rationalization. Sadly, neither played BattleTech games anymore. :(

I actually remembered that back when i was in highschool chilling in mektek net. well that event or maybe im thinking of something else probably.

Yes because they can completely ignore half the playerbase...oh yeah..they have to do both.

Start printing 3067 Mechs for IS on top of clans, there's nothing for HBS. Dunno why I bother.... it's not for you.. you'll argue the sky is pink just because you're salty over the current state of the mkII.

As always, PGI is their own worst enemy and ridiculously short sighted. But hey, we have CW mk3 coming. Maybe the third time's the charm and people will buy more mech packs!


One of the things that they do that I really like, is a discount for early adopters for the new ships....

HBS, is not going to have a huge mech roster, you're the one who tried to say they aren't going to make the extra side cash "that you actually have no idea about" if they do clan mechs from 3067. My point that you seemed to skip over was that NONE of the clan mechs in MWO will be in the HBS game 3051-3200. As for a timeline jump clans don't have much to choose from even Russ said that, he said there were no Assaults he was happy with in the current bottom barrel timeframe that he scraping the last pike of junk out of.

Dunno since he's always speaking in code... I'm sure if he does decide to release a battle mech assault it will be the Mad Cat MK II. I think this junky omni mech set that few seem to actually want is the mechs he wanted to get through first.

Warhammer IIC (a bigger better Warhammer with Clan tech!)
Marauder IIC (meta death incarnate)
Super Nova
Bane
Stone Rhino
Imp
Annihilator

Those are the ones that come time mind at this time frame....

Actually when the Dragoons showed up, they nearly blew their cover beacuse they had the Imp and Annihilator, those mechs were more or less extinct in the IS.

Taken right from the Annihilator's entry:

"...in one of their few missteps, the Wolf's Dragoons brought a number of designs with them in 3009, raising more questions to their origins while at the same time adding to their mystique. It was exclusive to the Dragoons until the Jihad..."

Still, I wouldn't expect them to be added for Clans considering the history behind the Clan version of both. Neither were actually IICs, but C versions of the IS chassis, which is a little bit different. Arguing semantics with this, but meh.

True, but it still would be fun to see them, just assign them to the Clans for CW purposes, or general to everyone.

I do not think we need to see a 100 ton trashcan, we have a 30 tonner already...

But seriously, the Imp is a Swiss army knife mech, it would have enough hardpoints to do just about anything at any range, as well as have the tonnage to do it. the Annhilator would be something scarry to bump into for the attackers in CW...

Hell the Annhilator makes it into my top 5 city fighting killers.

1. Demolisher Tank
2. SRM carrier
3. Annhilator
4. Hunchback IIC
5. Hunchback


The Urbanmech makes it to number 6 on that list, so still in the top ten.

Yeah. Annihilator. Cool, though one trick pony TT mech. That without massive changes to their current rules, or a huge engine exemption a la Urbanmech (though far less likely because the ANH actually has firepower) gets stuck with a 240 engine.

Why is that bad though? They made the black lanner good. Im entirely in favour of the devs changing a mech if it means making it actually good. I'd love the turkina if it wasn't hot garbage. I'd love the viper too if it wasn't hot garbage. God knows alex made some beautiful art as usual and it makes me WANT to pilot that mech, but the vanilla BT values ruin it as usual. Why is everyone so attached to those numbers? They're at best, useless in a real time game, and at worst, destructive.

Annihilator ain't an omni, you could up its engine in MWO context. That said, there's not much the annihilator can do that the king crab cant, with better hitboxes. The beer belly is the death of the annihilator, and I say that with a heavy heart, remembering how scary that thing was in mechwarrior 3, but then again, lbx autocannons were good in that game, and knockdowns really ****** you up good.
