Kind of a wierd question to ask when the game isn't even out yet and the Clanners aren't here, but how many people will be Word of Blake when it comes along? Personally, I will.

No, because they won't be here for awhile and because they're religious crusades following an insane guy. Not the best choice.

Sorry, but the issue is kind of moot. If the devs stick to the 1-1 timescale, the Wobbie Jihad is almost twenty years down the road. We've still got the Clan invasion and all other kinds of interesting shenanigans between now and then.

As I said, it was kind of an odd question.

Word of Blake?

Weren't that the guys who nuclear bombed their own civilian population out of frustration when they lost a battle?

How about no.

Let's face it. The Word of Blake are the good guys. PERIOD, end of story.

Did they use nukes? Yes, but on limited targets such as the capitals of worlds to 'cut off the head' of the enemy and save countless innocent lives. Without leadership where is the resistance? Also they brought humanity so much more technological advancement in the military and medical fields in such a short period of time compared to any other time in history. Need proof? Look at their 'mechs, and cybernetics.

Your petty Successor States wanted nothing to do with another glorious golden age for humanity and thus labeled the Word of Blake and its followers as terrorists, and look how that ended. You all fell victim to a clever ruse and power grab that came in the form of Delvin Stone and his Republic of the Sphere, that cost so much more in lives than simply submitting would have.

But even in 'defeat' the glorious Word of Blake still won, as their goal was to unite the entire Inner Sphere behind a single banner.

Some say that the Jihad is why we can't have nice things. The Word of Blake says the Jihad is the damn reason you GET nice things.

May the Word of Blake be ever in your hearts, or may you wake up to a false dawn.

Wobbies suck, The Jihad, and even worse the ensuing Dark Ages completely killed the BT canon for me. It was great till the end of the FedCom civil war, then it just got silly.

So the Word of Blake trying to free mankind from the feudalism of the autocratic state lords and the fascists space elves of the Clans, makes them the bad guys? Word of Blake got stuff done, EI not working for the clans? Blake got cyborgs that jack in like it is the Matrix. FWL needs a new fleet of warships with onboard HPG, done. Word of Blake figured out how to put a guy in power armor and that power armor into a BattleMech (and eliminating the need for a gyro and increasing pilot protection). What was everyone else trying to do while Word of Blake perfected BattleMech Turducken technology? Improved Heavy Lasers.

But yeah it would have been awful if they won. All of that education, technological advances, and personal freedoms.

Let us not forget they advanced the stagnate field of stealth technology with the introduction of mass produced Mimetic Armor used in their Purifier Adaptive Battle Armor and the Void Signature System used in their Raptor II battlemechs.

Again, it would have been terrible for them to have won and continued with such terrific innovations instead of bombing another faction and themselves in the process back into oblivion... ;)
