Fafnir uses STD engine so we can still have it with the Heavy Gauss. The other things you mentioned are indeed not possible. From my hazy recollection, it seems that PGI decided not to implement crit splitting because somehow they feel that they don't like it (don't quote me on this).

I think it was actualyl a bit of a coding headache to set up, especially since it sees such limited usage stock (I'd use the heck out of it though)

The worst part is it actually does render some weapon systems utterly un-doable if they don't go back and fix it.

Of course, that's a common problem. We'll never have many 3060+ Clan designs if they can't get weapons to fire multiple ammo types because of how common the ATM (the missile launcher, not your bank machine) becomes.

That Solaris Skunk Werks can easily juggle all the details by comparison makes me feel a mite shamed by PGI's Mechlab.

juggling these things on a spreadsheet ain't exactly the same as juggling them in a 3D interactive model. Uses totally different engines, codes, etc, I would imagine.

Umm Armored warfare can have many weapon systems and different ammo types between the. AKA Terminator has its Auto Cannon's with 2 different rounds (AP and HE) and the Missiles (HEAT and HE charges) you can carry both selections for both weapons. ARmored warfare runs on Cryengine as well, so it is not that hard, its just requiring coding done right or a new UI feature for the pilot to swap ammo.

Would also fix Clan LBX!

There will be no reason to run clan mechs ever again should this be done.

IS Uber alles.

Not sure if this is sarcasm as clan xl still has a 25% weight advantage clan has less bulky upgrades and weapons whose innate properties add up to quirks worth about35-40% while taking fewer crit slots . and as for people saying IS light engines need more penalties for St destruction because clan needs to be better, it is already 25% better how much better does clan need to be?

The LFE should stop all the "Their XL is better than my XL and it's not fair" whining.... I support the inclusion of the LFE.
