I'm pretty sure that it won't be another Medium or Heavy.

He might be referring to the Phoenix Hawk guys.

Edit: NVM it doesn't come out for another 2 months...

Hmmmm do they normally just surprise us with mechs like this?

They tease us with something then reveal it after a patch day. Considering Russ wants to scrape the older mechs for MWO, BSW sadly will wait.

Could be a few of the light mechs we dont have yet. Flea, Stinger, Valkrie, Javelin.
The fan favorites for mediums.
We just got the unseen heavies, so hopefully not more heavies.
Quite a few assaults, but I dont think they would add much variety.

Don't know why they're worried about what year this game is anymore. There's 0 lore in this game. No restrictions on mech availability for factions. No production issues. Nothing.

The Tukayyid events were a farce.

Declaring "no mechs past this date" is a really weird hill to plant your flag on, all things considered.

Agree 100%.

As if it would completely break our immersion when 90% of the matches played are "Quick play" with all factions mashed together in endless deathmatches, and every mech is custom fitted to the fingertips. No stock mechs in sight. Liao players in Dire Wolves, Clan Wolf players in Black Knights. And some people (and devs) act like releasing a 3055 mech in 3053 would be a huge problem for the setting of the game.

RIP lore. RIP ISN news. RIP meaningful timeline.

Wait people still think the timeline means something? We had Tukayyid and the clans won the first time, I think we've already said we are going to ignore the lore.

It is and it isn't, 3053 is kind of the line in the sand before IS start getting Clan knock off equipment like the ERML, ERSL, UAC/2/10/20, LB 2/5/20 and SSRM4/6. Too much past this point we start seeing things like Heavy Lasers, ER pulse lasers, ATM's, MML's, MRM's, HAG's and RAC's, all things that will take balance and flip it upside down.

Thug would be sweet. Especially if it was made to look something like this...

Not getting it in game, just announcing it for sale. Although we do usually get some notice of it before the sale page goes up...

It's going to be Cyclops, and I will stay disappointed. Yeah, we desperately need another Atlas/Orion clone, amirite?

I'm hoping the Cyclops will just be a more durable Battlemaster/Banshee.

Impossible. At most it can have two energy mounts, unless PGI inflates it. Cyclops can never compete in the role of Battlemasters, or the Banshees. It might give a run for its money against Highlanders, but that doesn't mean much.

You'll probably have more luck with Crockett, or Gunslinger, for that role.

My guess would be one of the ones we've seen artwork for, like the Flea.

That one is 4 years late because they killed it given that its speed would kill HSR lol

Its 3055 already?

Then again noone else really cares about the timeline at this point much less them lol

How do you even find out the date in game since they killed the news thing?

Man, Id buy a quad mech tho lol

But the inability for it to be able to hull down in craters and no sliding/falling rules would make quads kind of useless

because horrible geometry and crappy arms with low hardpoints ALWAYS translates into MORE durable.....

Dont forget the BM had horrible geometry when it first came out. The CT being so huge there was no issue putting xls in it because the CT was a bullet magnet

No, it had bad hitboxes. It's geometry hasn't changed. WHile related, the two are separate. Dragon, Mad Dog, Awesome and Archer for instance have bad geometry, no amount of Hitbox tweaking can fix it.
