I wonder if they mean a completely new chassis or just a new variant.

If it's just a new variant I wouldn't mind Shadowhawk 5S

Back on topic with the thread

Cyclops most likely

could be Crusader, Valkryie, Wasp, Stinger.

Won't be the flea unless Russ goes back on what he said in the town hall.

Anyway, those are the only mechs I'll put out my wallet for.

I think the only good thing to come from this would be is noone bought the crappy cyclops and PGI went back to making actual mech packs instead of one shots, because the players finally stopped playing Pokemon nostalgia

ah but I can dream

I think single mech releases are far more profitable for PGI (and therefore less of a value), so I don't see PGI changing that practice. Charging $80 for 4 mechs doesn't net as much profit and charging $80 for 1.

That mech release model is here to stay, it is just too good for them to give up and go back.

They were getting more for hero mechs back in CB. The Boar's head was like $50 if not more by itself much less an actual whole new mech

The better question is what does the IS need?
- the IS need: a fast heavy (and i say heavy not a fat medium like Quickdraw or Dragon)
- a lower weight medium with missiles
- light LRM boat Posted Image Posted Image
- something else

So:
- Exteminator, Falconer, Withworth, Thorn

I think two places in the IS lineup where we have a glaring shortage of options is the light ends of Light and Medium weight classes: 20 and 40 tons.

Lots of common 40 tonners in lore, but we only have the Cicada. I'd also like the Whitworth!

The solution for the 20 tonner shortage is obvious and that's the Stinger/Wasp value combo pack. (But I wouldn't say no to the Flea.)

As far as what we'll actually get, all we know is that it's something they already had the art for. But we cannot really know what Alex's been sitting on, so could be anything.

The Phoenix, and Resistance I and II packs were $80 for 4 unique mechs.

The Phoenix Hawk is $80 for 1 unique mech. They design 1 mech, assign a new designation for each version they clicked and dragged a hard point somewhere different (that takes them a whole 5 min at best). Maybe the price is to pay for the few unique camo designs? :/

I almost get the Hero mech pricing before if not because I think in beta days (before dynamic hardpoints), mechs had more unique modeling for each variant (plus yeah, they did tonnage gouge us too). If yo designed 3 variants of the same mech (and a hero mech), you designed multiple mechs since you had to draw in different static weapons at their locations.

Dynamic hardpoints really streamlined it for them I think. Now they design 1 mech with mutliple grey boxes and just alter some code to drop in a pre-drawn weapon asset into a location of their choosing...BOOM! new mech :)

We still pay like it is a more drawn out process though :). Hey whatever, it is a business and they found a way to make more money and people are happy to pay it, so I guess it is a win-win for everyone...right?

it could be the Thorn or Withworth - and of course the Falconer,
crab, kingcrab, vindicator, marauder sketches are now full featured MWO Mechs

it actually depends on if the last Tukayyid that happened was beta or not because according to sarna it doesnt go into full production till after that.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Bushwacker

What IS the year in game anyways? The game's been out what 4 years? If so then it should be 3054 and the argument should be moot lol

I will refer to an earlier post of mine on page 1....

According to my TRO:

The Bushwacker entered full scale production in 3053, though many FedCom units received pre-production models during the Clan Invasion.

That was the first line under deployment in TRO 3058....

As for the year, Rus has stated that if a base model of a Mech is 3053 or earlier, then it can be concerned fair game.

How about the
Starslayer

Production Year 2772
Mass 50 tons

Two Starslayers hunt down a Cestus in the city streets of Singapore as the Star Leagues 250th Battlemech Division pushes out the 19th Amaris Dragoons.

Either Crusader or Cyclops.

I'd prefer the Crusader, personally.

Note : I would love to see the Pillager/Thunder-Hawk some-day, but I know just how unlikely that is.

Your imagination is running too wild, it will just be a SALE, meaning an already existing IS mech will go on sale...
