This is the mech any slob can point to and go "SEE, MWO IS P2W!!!!"

You've got top comp players razzing you for being limp on the Oxide PGI. Even I'm willing to chime into these disgusting white knight infested forums to speak my mind.

The Oxide is stupidly OP and you didn't do enough to balance it.

Thank you.

Much better to nerf it into the ground so its useless. Why bother with slight nerfs here and there when you can just make the mech useless! That makes everyone happy.

Also, may come as a surprise to you, but the Jenner IIC isn't THAT far behind when it comes to brawling lights.

It would've been nice had the Oxide gotten a slight structure nerf... and then applied the overall structure buff from the Oxide changes to the rest of the Jenners (including the IICs).

Though, it would be some undertaking of the XML based on how "balance" works around here.

To be honest, I find 4x SRM 4s (34 damage alpha) on 2.04s CD while running relatively cool to be a bit too much.

That's nearly 16 DPS.

How many 500 and 600+ damage games in 8v8 MRBC matches where the Oxide is an auto-include do we need to see before it's clear there is an issue?

It doesn't need to be nerfed into the ground, just toned down a bit so other light mechs have at least a remote chance of going 1v1 vs. it and not getting outright obliterated unless the Oxide pilot is incompetent.

Sure, a tone down.

Meh, you can take away all the oxide's quirks and it'll still hit pretty damn hard. You'll just have to go back to playing it BnZ style instead of lol I face tank your atlas style.

YEAH! Let's take away its quirks! Wait...

Uh...

Only way you can really nerf it it to take away missile hard points and that just means 3ASRM6 will be the new build. Less splat, way more accuracy.

Yes yet another OMG THE OXIDE IS OP IT NEED MORE NERF!!!!!

Please, why don't you assaults and heavies learn Situational Awareness on your mechs. I went 180 rounds of ammo tearing up T1's and T2's and not ONE person turned to engage me until I got into their field of view

I do agree that the other Jenners need the strcuture buffs and I do not understand why only the OXIDE gets them, but for the moment thats how it is. The OXIDE is a solid mech and lights should be a threat if left unchecked. You will notice every time I SCREWED UP and got in front of an assault I paid for it. They are easily taken out.

Yeah the Oxide is strong once you get inside 100 meters, but if you're letting a light get that close you deserve getting stabbed in the back. It can beat other lights 1v1 sure, but with how SRM hitreg can be it isn't a guaranteed thing. Honestly, the IIC is pretty close. While it doesn't get structure, it gets that crazy high alpha. We all know IIC's are capable of one shot's, the Oxide not so much.

I also agree that I'd like to see the other Jenners get some of the structure. It makes no sense that the Oxide is the only one with structure quirks on such a fragile chassis.

When did this nerf happen? Been away. Want to know if anything has changed. More often than not, lighting up a mech with an alpha from an Oxide is wasted missiles due to hitreg. Left and right is how we roll to farm the most damage from your bones.

you let a missile boating light get up in your grill without a team mate having eyes on you. Sorry.

Imagine if mechs didn't have their double armour? This is an ammo based mech that can only dish out finite damage. They do their job very well. Don't make this make out to be able to to anything else at all.

The fun of them was to make attack runs through enemy lines with a wingman.

I get your sarcasm but this isn't a "nerf to the ground thread" it's a "PGI was too limp wristed to apply the necessary changes" thread. Also, it should come as no surprise to you that the Jenner IIC is slightly inferior due to lacking quirks, being a much bigger target, and cSRMs having wider spread. Sure it has a higher burst, but it doesn't put out the obnoxiously high sustained DPS an oxide does.

But whateves... after reading most of the reactions to this patch I was dead on in PGI screwing up once again. In my personal opinion they should have stripped the Oxide's quirks down and left it at that, but then it wouldn't be a P2W money maker anymore, and YES... it is a genuine P2W mech. This may not be a P2W game as a whole but it has some P2W heros no matter how much the white knighting tryhards want to laugh and deny it.

I agree that the IIC is fairly over the top too, tho not as much as the Oxide. Sadly it was brought in to give both sides an OP mech. Just because one side has the Oxide and one side had the IIC doesn't make things right tho. It's like seeing two kids having a fist fight then suddenly one pulls out a knife, and the adult's solution isn't to take the knife away and make them use boxing gloves, but rather hands the unarmed kid a knife also then starts eating popcorn while the kids stab each other to death.

Welcome to PGI.

Because they like the smell of money and taste of tears.

I'm off to go enjoy dinner now. My peace has been spoken.

OK, I rolfed about "mwo p2w", but now I must explain that....

Do u wanna know how much money I spent for my oxide?
Zero real money.
During last christmas sale, I managed to buy 3 (Three) hero mechs, all with ZERO real money.
Oxide, grind iron, Top dog, using MC gained thanks to CW and all MC pgi had given away.

So, writing "mwo p2w" is "something I don't agree with" since everybody can buy hero mechs for free.

Also saying hero mechs OP, is, again, "something I don't agree with" rolf.

Yeah it feels like we are living under a very bureaucratic and inefficient government. Except we have no power to vote the officials out. Posted Image

arctic cheetahs are the only lights that should be able to face tank assaults.

No, no lights should be able to face tank an assault and none of them can, but I'm curious as to why you think the cheetah is so deserving.

Please, do name one light mech that can genuinely face tank an assault.
