yay Another mech that adds nothing to the game.

Its 5 tons heavier than the BM... same big engine. Will 5 tons matter? That low looking armed body doesnt seem to hide a bunch of high hardpoints that will make any real difference

Don't hold your breath. Another Clan mech is to be released early May, my money is on the Night Gyr.

They would get my wallet open for that :P

Honestly, I love the design, but I'm apprehensive on how it will play. The Hero is basically a better Mauler though in terms of hardpoints which is enough to pique my interest.

TBH Cyclops = Geth Prime.

Looks an awful lot like an archer with a geth head slapped on top to me...

So your wallet only stays closed for two weeks then! (hopefully)

To be honest though, the Cyclops looks like it can do some neat stuff.

It really boggles my mind how many people are willing to happily hand over money for mechs that are redundant, bring nothing new to the game, and (in some cases), not even good just because the art is pretty.

Great to see this mech in the game.
The enhanced battle computer is a really interesting function to introduce.
What will be worth finding out is if there is a cumulative bonus passed from the Cyclops to the ally mech/s.
ie. if the Cyclops boosts it's own sensor range using BAP, CC and the module, do these increases also affect the ally to some degree?

I am hoping that we see the information warfare aspects added from the test server so perhaps this is a bit of an indication that those changes are still in the works?

Re the Command Console, there was mention that they wanted to do something a bit special with this bit of equipment so let's see what is announced.

To be honest...

I kind of got it for the Splatclops. (the 10Q)

I didn't get the Archer pack, so here's my bigger Archer with better Sensors.

I couldn't stop cackling. Way to go with this mech. It isn't the best, so they added something different. Makes me wonder if this is a preview of things to come AND what might be in store for existing mechs. Not my kind of purchase. Waiting for a piranha, anniliator, and maybe a few other IIc-ers.

Hmmm Annihilator! Posted Image I love that beast in MW2 (If Im not mistaken)

I don't see much use in having a simple boost to sensor range. Most of the time, someone will be in targeting range of the enemy and will share it with the team anyway. If the battle computer doesn't just increase the max range of sensors but also increases the size of the range brackets that determine how fast you receive the target ragdoll information, then I think it would more than pull its weight in the assault slot, especially with those hardpoints.

that ballistic point? On a mech whose CT and ST are that exposed? meh. It looks to be about where the ballistics point on the Atlas is and I dont hear anyone saying how great the placement on that is

look at how exposed youll be with that great big "shoot me here" sign on your cockpit

Even though I have absolutely zero interest in it, I have to say it looks good.

But that's a problem.

The Cyclops is an old design in the lore, not a recent one. Why does it not share the boxy shapes the other 28th century 'Mechs have? It looks too good.

Well, are you sure it's an old design? I thought it's a newer design than the recently released Archer, Warhammer and Marauder.
Cyclops is like... 2700s, while the other designs are like 2400s-2600s.

Cyclops is early 2700s. Atlas is mid 2700s. Blackjack is mid 2700s. Awesome is mid-late 2600s. Jenner is late 2700s. Cicada is early-mod 2700s.

I can go on. All of these save the Cyclops are pretty boxy within the context of MWO. They have that rough and worn look. The Cyclops doesn't. It's new and shiny. Even the Warhammer is too new looking, for a 'Mech from the mid 2500s. In contrast, the Marauder is both an early 2800s 'Mech and has that whole "first of a new breed" stipulation in its lore, so it should look advanced.

It is one of the "new" older mechs.

Although I want to buy it, I'm getting serious Archer dejavu... why so many missile hardpoints and no torso energy?
