Well, in fairness though, most IS chassis that get ECM only have it on a single variant of that chassis. And often, that variant is a Hero mech.

However, every Clan chassis that has ECM is an omni, which means every variant a player can create within that chassis has the potential to carry ECM.

On those grounds, ECM saturation is much higher for clan mechs than IS mechs.

PENALTY! 5 minute major for using logic and rationality on the forums.

Um, to be honest I think this is kind of fishy.. Its like, if you want to show that Clans have more ECM mechs, you say "yeah all the variants have ECM because there is an omni-pod with it". It makes more sense to me to just go by chassis, because most chassis with ECM run the same hardpoint setup on all variants, so its not like they are different mechs with different capabilities.

Folks need to remember that this does not balance over to IS. If you multiply the clan mech by the number of variants, you need to divide the IS ecm mech by its number of variants that do not have the same capability. You can not say the Raven has ECM, It does not. Only one Raven has ECM, 3 others do not. So the Raven modifier is 1/4, where the clan modifier stays at 1 if they have omni pods.

Folks keep looking for very simple math "I am right you are wrong answers", and sometimes this is the case.

Common though clan ECM rocks and makes leveling them very easy especially if there are a selection of random players on both teams (happens in Group and CW too). Many IS ECM are not that reliable across different play styles especially since they get fewer quirks, may run an XL and will probably have Ape arms unless a lower weight.

I thought some of this is what people wanted with Clan and IS being different.

It might just be the fact that I'm tired as hell and about to go crawl into bed, but it sounds to me like you're trying to give the Clans

I was actually thinking IS
