Faced with these kinds of targets, it just makes me more interested in other games, I'd have likely played more if there hadn't been the event.

P.S. At least you can fix event conditions by removing "Win the match with minimum 80 point match score". But there is still REALLY BIG problem with broken game mode that has to be redone in a some right way. I don't know how I'm not a game designer.
P.P.S. And one more thing, amount of intel that have to be gathered is just ridiculously crazy. :-D

If PGI wants to keep single players in CW, they had to think about this gamemode or the goals of the event

Especially the win-condition for Invasion mode was a really well thought out move on your side!
Now thousands of solo/random players enjoying a really great time, having already fullfilled all other conditions a couple of days ago but still desperately trying to get even a single win, while getting perma-farmed 24/7, losing game after game!
I Cant think of any better way to waste... uh I mean SPEND my time! Awesome job PGI, really awesome job!
Want some cheese with your whine? Seriously, why should you get a grand prize for participation? It is about beating other players in a competition. Welcome to multiplayer games.

Apart from the good items I manage to collect after long hours of playing, this event caused me and other players burnout.
I don't think I´m in the right mind to do this... this event...

******** 70+ Matches with 1.3k -2k dmg , all my team dead and i got 2 mechs left.
15 wins ?!?!??! nope...
so at that point all my potato pugs are dead and i got 3 or 2 mechs left,
instead of waste another 5 mins waiting to get spawnkilled u cant even quit the slaghter without
gettign a ******** "you have triggert the penalty system"
very well balanced and thought thru event, !
will play dis game again..
For most random pugs i pressuem it much worse,

NO its not about beating other players, its about Beating another TEAMS,
as u need a victory,
beating players and gaining individual proper stats per game is easy.
Win when in pug game is random lottery,
and no not everbody has ts and 30 mates to play with.
all those 12 Man Prmades slaugter the pugs and get event done with a day,
Pugs grind for week, GG PGI GG..

No, I dont want cheese to my whine... I want a game which is entertaining and worthwhile for >90% of the playerbase instead of <10% - And this game aint!!!
And perhaps you should check the meaning of the words "competition" and "challenge" before making stupid and jerkish comments:
organized players vs organized players would have been competition/challening
solo/random players vs solo/random players would have been competition/challening aswell
solo/random players vs organized players is NO competition at all, it is predetermined butchering, boring and completely unchallenging (for both sides), demotivating and overall damaging aspect for the game!
And to answer your question "Seriously, why should you get a grand prize for participation?":
Seriously, why should I participate or even play at all if I cannot win? Oh right - I shouldnt...
So, keep enjoying your yerkish babbling about "Multiplayer" - you will realize soon enough, when there is no "Multi" left and the game is dead (it is already dying anyway)

I honestly dont know why people put themselves through the heart ache after all this time. Its far better to just avoid it. The prizes arent worth it.
And dont listen to those that say that all you have to do is communicate and coordinate.
Even a good Pug will get beaten badly when facing a well coordinated premade with complementary mechs and tactics.
Those are just shame and bait tactics to make you think that if you just tried harder you might stand a chance so you will keep coming back to be farmed.
But it's ok. In a couple of weeks when the event is over and the pugs leave, all they will have is 4x4 because invasion will die off again without the Pugs and the crying of a dead CW will be heard all over again

-snip-
I really have to ask whether you honestly think that communicating and coordinating really does NOT help a team play better together. If you do, no need to read further.
Throwing out the deceptive example of "a well coordinated premade with complementary mechs and tactics" really stinks to high heaven. Most matches I have played, especially in Scouting are against other PUG players and casual unit groups, not groups from comp teams.
You do a huge disservice to less experienced players by spouting this nonsense.
However, I will agree that most people and groups will lose to a comp team group or even a group with 1 or 2 comp team players but the frequency that I am seeing this happen is low.
If this is happening to you consistently, switch to another mode or planet. If this still happens frequently, maybe you are being stalked. In the absence of a matchmaker in CW, this should not be happening unless you are somehow cursed by the RNG Gods.

Oh I never said that it didnt make them better.
Will it make them better? Sure. Will it save them? Nope.
And mention Scouting. Of course you see more varied pugs in Scouting. Thats where the Pugs go for quicker matches and more opportunities to drop against other Pugs instead of getting stomped out in Invasion.
You accuse me of spouting nonsense but cherry pick your argument to favor your own cause.
Its well known that Pugs suffer in CW. Has been that way for as long as Ive been playing. And every CW event has these same arguments pop up every single time. Every time.
Nothing has changed in CW in that regard except the addition of 4x4 where solos/pugs have more of a chance to avoid seal clubbing.

Also, unlike Invasion, Scouting does not have a bias in the participation of premades. What I am referring to is that if you mostly play defence on Invasion, the probability is higher than you will meet premades of 6-12. The solution here is to use Faction chat or one of the Faction hubs to join other faction members and play attack. There are ZERO restrictions that prevent a group of 12 solo players of the same faction from grouping up to attack.
This has also been pointed out numerous times.
I am not a member of member of large unit and I often am the only member of my unit online. I have played Invasion as a solo player responding to a call to arms and after noting the low success rate of such drops, I now restrict my participation in CW/FP to Scouting or by joining up with others to do attack.
I respect that you have made the choice not to play CW/FP but please do not make it seem like just doing well enough to have fun in CW/FP somehow requires making it a second job.

Ok fair enough.
But if it was all that easy then why is the Pug/Solo experience so historically abysmal?
Why is it that unless there is an event the solo/pug participation plummets into the ground?
Maybe because its not as simple as it sounds? Or at least not as simple as you are trying to imply?
And also, youre trying to use this events population and participation levels as a norm. Its not by a long shot.
Right now the solo/pugs are toughing it out like they always do during events trying frantically to get the rewards, and will be long gone after its over.

However, that is a discussion for another day.
The principles of being able to have fun in CW/FP are actually pretty straightforward but does require some effort. Trying to do it the same way we get into QP will not work.

I agree that its pretty straight forward.
Just like the issues in the past with groups in the quick play que, organized groups beat the pants off of pugs the majority of the time
Fun for the group, not fun for the pug, and the rewards vs the time spent combined with the frustration of losing in such a fashion drives away the pugs.
Just because those players are casual pugs doesnt mean that they are stupid.
Telling them that all they have to do is communicate better, or that its possible to beat a premade doesnt fool them. They know the deck is stacked against them and they wont fall for it unless they are new.
And they also know that simply plucking 11 other people from Faction Chat doesnt mean that they are less of a Pug group with the same chances. It just means that they were able to fill a que faster.

Look at it this way, at least now they can build up gradually to Invasion by finding 3 others to play and practice teamwork with in Scouting before jumping into 12v12 Invasion. Make enough friends and they might be able to drop as a full 12 man team themselves.
You are absolutely right that dropping as a 12 man, communicating and coordinating amongst yourself does not guarantee you will beat the opposing team but you will be winning more than just dropping solo, staying passive and doing your own thing.
In the final analysis, all I can do is tell people what worked for me as an average player with a limited network of friends in-game. Hopefully it helps someone.

Tweet Russ and lobby for it
Personally, I think they should let it run longer to get more people to play it and get used to it.
