Only 1/3 of my clan mechs have AMS, but about 80-90% of my IS mechs have AMS.

Whenever there is enough space and tonnage left, I equip AMS.

The best one is the Nova with 3 AMS and AMS overload... enemy missiles just dissapear XD

I used to...but I realized how weak it actually was, and that if your under LRM hail, the best bet is cover, or your dead anyway.

Maybe Tier1 pilots don't need AMS and deny to lrms boat to rain on them by taking cover or be sneaky ... Posted Image

None maybe one or 2 assauts max...
For my part i prefer take a BAP if i have free slots & tonnage.

i started equipping AMS on everything after being sick of NARC+LRM couples in polar nooblands.

Out of 105 mechs (all IS) about half mostly on assaults and heavies. It helps the team in my view more than for myself.

I might have a couple sitting around that I haven't played for a good while, but the mechs I have generally played over the lst twelve months have Zero AMS attached.

I also never take AMS but I always take radar derp. I can think of two times in the last few months that I died to LRMs and frankly I deserved it.

The nova with triple AMS is the only one.

I don't run into enough lurmers to need it.

Between 1/3-1/3 of the mechs that can equip AMS have it. Generally the heavier mechs I own have it while only a few lighter ones do.

I have AMS on a fair number of mechs. Only a small handful of mechs have ECM slots, and so rather than being shoe-horned into using those mechs all the time, I'd rather have at least some sort of back-up system. a single AMS won't do a whole hell of a lot to take down missiles, but I can help to alleviate some of the brunt my team-mates will take as well, If there are two AMS slots on a mech, I'll definitely take that option. if there's only one... it usually depends on how I plan on using it. A shorter-ranged fighter is usually more prone to taking LRM fire while knife-fighting with a mech than a sniper that hugs cover will get. Also, depending on the tonnage/crits remaining. Sometimes, You are left with just two crits. DHS won't fit, the armor is already maxed, and any more guns will just serve to rack up the heat scale. In which case, sure, why not pack in an AMS and a half-ton of ammo?

But I will agree that AMS feels decidedly anemic as far as weapons systems go. It's not meant to swat everything out of the sky, but I'd have expected a higher proportion of the missiles fired at me to get taken down by a single AMS system. I would also expect AMS'es to be better at dealing with LRM5 spam than LRM20s. It would be a better counter to the chain-fire cockpit shake to death, encouraging players to try out the bigger, slower firing launchers.

If I got Cbills for shooting down missiles, a lot more of my mechs would have AMS. Only a handful of my mechs have it, and usually only because I didn't have room for a heatsink.

I have a 3xAMS Kit-Fox with all the AMS modules (and it has AMS quirks). I dusted it off when the Archer got released just for giggles, but ultimately I just don't feel like I have enough incentive to play it.

Zero.

A - It's pretty useless for anything but critpadding.
B - Outside of CW (maybe) LRMs just aren't that effective.

Any with free tonnage. id say bout 40% since im mostly a heavy/assault driver...

One alone isnt worth much, and it should not be. AMS is a team weapon and stacked up AMS works wonders.
