Few founders?? I see them almost every match, blues, oranges, golds and those red stars phoenix guys? I swear theres at least over 100 of them.

compared to what it used to be thats a puny number. There were thousands of founders at one point. They're gone now.

For posting something thats a good read and makes a little sence concerning Russ' attitude regarding players now?

Does he expect us to have nothing but positive feedback and blow X amount of $ every month because HE thinks the state of the game is good?

That is a disturbing attitude, and no wonder so few Founders are seen in game anymore.

You're starting to realize what I realized, and what alot of others realized a long time ago. Doesn't feel good does it? I promise though, its for the best.

I just want more than an arcade version of MW. Maybe F2P just isn't the right medium for it, and I should resign myself to that. But it isn't a good feeling.

Free to play could be the right medium, its contingent on the developer, and russ just showed us again that PGI probably isnt the team to do it.

Grinding Gears Games did path of exile and has had great success, because they have ethical microtransactions and show dedication to the game they're making. A million little things they do differently from PGI because they think differently. Its not always about sales, putting in a bit of extra work here might turn into more paying supporters down the road. I bought a supporter pack when the first new expansion came out last summer. 120 dollars. No small purchase especially with the canadian dollar where it is, but i felt they deserved it. MWO COULD inspire that same feeling if they really SHOWED that dedication. If they really showed that they deserved it. When russ says our feedback is not needed, he does the opposite.

battered wife syndrome. its real here. I know your feel. Iv been in since closed beta, but i resolved to buy a founders pack about 2 days after they stopped selling them. Its why I sprung for and still wear my overlord phoenix badge. Closest thing. If only I knew then...

I see lots of player passion, making beautiful suggestions other than balance ideas, yet all they get is shot down by other players who don't want any more depth, or are too comfortable with what we have, and DON'T have. Its disheartening to say the least.

TO BE FAIR TO PGI

alot of suggestions on this forum are crap.

that said, when you stick your middle finger up at the forums, it devalues the forum and insults the posters who use it and that insult reverberates. People on reddit, wont feel like their feedback is valued anymore. People on twitter, where russ seems to be most interactive, wont feel their feedback is being valued anymore, because russ himself, told them that.

Most of the inane ideas are based on balancing this or that. The good ones get ignored or trolled as "well this is the way the game already works, so why make it different?"

I think sometimes we forget how small the community is.

The most online the forums at once (not just general discussion, everywhere) was 5,982... back in Oct 15th, 2013.

I think the peak online on any given day today is roughly 1000-1200 people (we’re at 830 right now).

What’s ironic is that we all thought we were a vocal minority a few years ago…
Well, now we’re reeeeeally minor.

I mean, the forums is largely abandoned.
Communication and feedback is taking place over at twitter and reddit.
Even there, feedback is only from a select group of 10-20 people trying to shift things to their own meta.
What are we even doing here?
When was the last time a dev posted on the forums? (other than roadmaps)
Why should we have to condense something into 140 characters to get it across?

Why bother?
Why should the next guy try to convince me something is balanced or not?
Why should I even try to convince him otherwise?
Why should we think through ways of improving gameplay and balance even?
What difference it would make?
What is the point?
to what end?

What is the exact duties of a community manager?
What do moderators do other than locking threads?

in b4 lock!

becuz we STILL dont have a in game chat box?

Can you fill us in on how we can get into this inner circle?

Make a twitter account, then start forum posting that way?

With twitter posts?

Russ talks to people on twitter more than here, but he blocks people if they're rude to him. To his credit, at least for the most part, he's pretty fair on twitter and wont block you for being critical alone, that said, our feedback is not needed, so whats the point?

We all realize that, based on it's current state, we are all violating the CoC right now, right?

Niko tried to use a sledgehammer to control the community. There was little or no finess to his approach and it cost him.

The current moderation group understands that the sledgehammer approach doesn't work. There's a lot more subtle approach to keeping "order" in the forums. Personally I think that whomever is in charge is good at their job, it's PGI's forums after all and they can manage them as they wish they employ some subtle forms of censorship.

Moving of posts, deletions or redactions, all have their place in managing a forum and PGI naturally wants their forums to reflect well on their game, but are willing to accept a certain level of discourse and criticism. Niko was headed down the road of some forums, ie. WarZ/Survival Stories, that were heavy-handed with brutally biased Mods.

I much prefer how these forums are handled, even though I still feel that there is some pretty subtle manipulation of content being done at times.

Damn...I hate it when I get all eloquent and return later to see it's been "<redacted>", but hopefully this isn't a too egregious violation of the CoC.

derek seems to be ok with this. Were not being belligerent, were not attacking anyone, were not spam or **** posting. The worst thing a mod could do now, is close this thread down or shadow delete people, because then they wont be courteous when they make their next 3 topics within the span of 10 minutes all about the same issue.

Again, firing on protesters tends to just make the protests bigger.

Just to sound stupid and or prove it seems to be the only reason to. though It's fun to read and sometimes reply to the people that feel so entitled they have to start a new thread rather than add their problem with the game to the whine thread

Why do the forums even need to exist then? We have an ingame popup window for news. I went through the 6(!) Pages of feedback on this patch. I saw 6 replies.

It is happening post by post rather than a whole thread at a time. So its more like selective sniping rather than wholesale firing lines.
