Sometimes I feel like peering into the pool of insanity, and going just crazy enough that I try and impose some order. No.... NO! No No No AAAAAARH GOD DAMN IT THE PURPLE SQUIGGLE SHOULD GO NEXT TO THE CHARTREUSE SQUIGGLE.

TO BE FAIR TO PGI

a lot of suggestions on this forum are crap.

Well that kind of goes without saying doesn't it? "Some ideas are bad." That's like... THE argument for open discussion.

Problem is we don't have, and have never had, an open discussion with PGI. We have a system where the forum can be completely saturated with arguments for doing variations on A to fix B and then PGI comes along and implements pseudo band-aid fix Q or bland game homogenizing xml-tweak G that have never been suggested by anyone ever outside PGI. See - power draw system.

Every once in a rare while though PGI does something like add the new player tutorial or the scouting game mode and I can let the squiggles go for a time.

It is happening post by post rather than a whole thread at a time. So its more like selective sniping rather than wholesale firing lines.

It hasn't happened at all today, at least not in this thread, and the mods deserve credit for that.

A forum is a place for players to discuss and debate right? I come here to get my daily salt fix. Its like a salt lick for mech-cows.

Why do the forums even need to exist then? We have an ingame popup window for news. I went through the 6(!) Pages of feedback on this patch. I saw 6 replies.

There is no point, however real game developers have them, so P.G.I has them ;)

No reason the forums are worth anything at all which is why the developers have abandoned them. These forums are still polluted by the same bullies that drove a good chunk of the population off when the game was young, and continue to drag their knuckles now.

Those "bullies" didn't invent ghost heat. Those "bullies" didn't try to institute draconian moderation rules on reddit. Those "bullies" didn't tell you "you're on an island" when you voiced a dissenting opinion. Those "bullies" didn't tell you "your feedback is not needed".

Know the difference between shitposters on the internet, and people who really drove players away from the game. MWO's shortcomings can be placed squarely on the shoulders of PGI's management team, and nowhere else.

I smell PR failure. Also interesting that the forum language filter doesn't catch that word.

if you wanted tears, my friend can offer you some vinegar chips, other than that sorry, nothing.

as to pb I think this is perfectly alright to talk a bit about the state of the forums, I started a poll a bit ago about getting a automated PM system for when we remove threads or something along those lines.

Yeah, Scout, sorry. You know I do respect what you guys do, but its hard to have respect for someone who insults you.

I know we aren't the devs, or anyone of consiquence apparently, but we do spend the money that keeps the servers on. I could have spent the money that I have sunk into this game, into at least 4 or 5 other full time games.

I could have too. but it is what it is. you can choose to get your money back, or choose to keep it here.

you could say we're entering one of those periods again. when the community is really angry right now. this is one of those situations.

soon enough, however, there's going to be a true breaking point, and it ain't going to be pretty.

PGI is sick of the backlash and a lot of players (the ones who bother to involve themselves) are tired of PGI's actions. I agree that the relationship is approaching either a much-needed change or a swift end.

I had a bad situation pop up, and had to get my preorders refunded. Excellent service. Done the same day as my ticket. I specifically said only the preorders. Yes my money is spent. I would like a little more interaction with the game for the amount I have put into it. Re: our other thread.

I dont need to try and get my money back for goods already delivered. I do like this game. I want it to succeed. I want it to grow. And for the money spent, I want to have at least a little say in what goes on. Even if it is just my feedback on PTS saying "lights need better sensors".

Having the PTS down, without a way for us to give feedback that we can see makes a difference, is a giant pain. To put it politely. Yeah, its hard to please people. Give us a chance to put our ideas forward, (at least the great ones) and try them in a PTS.

That, a forum/perma ban, or a mass closing of wallets, and game time spent elsewhere, regarding a thinly veiled threat.

Why do I post on the forums?

Mostly to counter the daily whine by sheer fear that devs might think all the whine is actually the representative of the community's wishes.

Secondly to try to give another perspective to some of the whiners.

Lastly,... trying to get more likes ^^
