Everyone in this game is so caught up in the quirks. I swear, take away the crutches out of from under a good deal of the players in this game and they would be just as bad as the underhive.

This is nonsense.

The best players, the good players, the average players and the bad players were pretty consistent during poptarting, before clan mechs, before quirks and after quirks.

Thinking that quirks disappearing would change who is actually good at the game is laughable fantasy at best, and willful delusion at worst.

Especially given that my own unit was one of the top teams way back during the beta days and has stayed consistent throughout MWO's history.

Yeah, no changes to game mechanics ever change who is and who isn't good at the game.

Those who actually are good at the game aren't so because of some crutch or whatever, but rather because they put the time and effort in to practicing and gitt'n gud.

Just like anything else, really.

Change game mechanics, balance changes etc, all that stuff - you mix the pot up for a while, but the players who were good will still be good later, once they figure out the new order of things.; and the players who were bad will remain bad.
