other than the long barrel shoulder appearance you can build the equivalent to a hollander now using a panther chassis.

Panther can only mount a ballistic in the arm on 1 variant. And that variant can not do the gauss rifle, AC 20 ,etc that the Hollander does (as well as the hollander having a very high location to shoot over terrain.
Only (IS) mech you can replicate this well with will be the Raven 4X (sort off) and the Firestarter but sake of quirks and hard point location Hollander I is superior
BUT the Hollander II is a 45 tonnes, not a 35 tonnes. On a raven you can't have 2 medium lasers and a gauss rifle easily with decent armour and speed... or a pair of SSRM 2's and pair of medium lasers with an AC 20.... etc.

- Yes. But in MWO only 4 45 tons mech. So about why I choose Mech Commander specs. I just love MechCommander (and gold version of it and even MC2 - which was less good and more bugged but in 3D).
Anyway - Hollander is good mech to be placed in game and making it like War-hammers or Marauders pack with some Hero mech with uncanny texture (Something with camo or old damages on mech) - nice move. Also I just can see some quirks for less damage from gauss explosions and something for extending ballistic range. It would make mech more unique for some support roles.

I do like Mechcommander, I look across MW, MA, MC, and BT for build inspiration and ideas quite often. However MC does have weird mechlab mechanics and balancing... i.e. as you can see with "laser" being one of the weapons... just 'laser'. It doesn't translate to well.
In MW: O we will see the TT/ cannon/ BT stats most likely in use while the MC may inspire a hero version (i.e. AC 10 jump jetting version?0

If we can get the original Hollander first, sure!

We have it already, it is called the Gauss-Firestarter...

Ah, someone beat me to it...

- As i write before: Yes I know that i can build some build based on shadow cat or hunchback, or shadow hawk... Even Hunchback can be closer to Hollander, but really slow or with XL engine (which short way to die easy and have no quirks to lower damage from gauss explosion).

We have it already, it is called the Gauss-Firestarter...

- A really slow one... or i can run at 70-81 Kph? Also - it still 35 tons and weapon mounted not in shoulder.

- In arm... With that - better take Shadow Hawk instead or Hunchback. But they design different.

I'm not quite sure you understand how a hollander was built. A 175 standard engine in a 35 ton chassis with Endo steel and 4 tons of FF armor, 10 standard heatsinks, gauss rifle with 2 tons of ammo. I can build that exact layout using a Firestarter FS9-H, INCLUDING the right torso gauss location. Hollanders were NOT fast mechs. Personally I'd rather build with an AC10 because over the course of 10 seconds, you'd get off five shots for 50 damage vs 3 for 45. Also you have twice as many shots per ton of ammo. And since a 35 ton doesn't have enough side/center torso internal structure to survive a gauss detonation, I'd rather carry the ammo, since the 3 tons of weight saving can go to more armor and/or backup weapons.

I apologize if this has already been stated in this thread, but can you remove the jump jets or are they fixed? The equipment list on the loadout page says fixed for some equipment, but it does not say that for the jump jets....just curious since I usually do not go full JJ on heavy/assault mechs. I am assuming they are fixed since this is an omni but hoping for the best.

Thanks!

Jump jets are fixed. If every version on an omni has the same item, its fixed.

The question that you should be asking is:

Will there ever be, Clan Leg Omni-pods with out Jump Jets, for Mechs like Night Gyr and ... Summoner, Nova... ?

The answer: probably, nope*.

* I know noting

P.S. Jag has 29 ~ 30.5 ton payload vs "Night Jar's" potential* ~38 tons (may be more if you have a "dead arm" config)

Can get 39 if you minimize head armor to around 12, shave the arms a little bit, and reduce the leg armor by about 1/3. But... don't recommend it.

By far the ugliest mech I have ever seen.

Night Gyr's ugliness level is up there with Storm Crow's deformed baby hands, and obese looking Centurion and Awesome.

Q: Will the Night Gyr come with its Laser Heat Sinks?
We are currently evaluating options for providing the Night Gyr with some of the traits provided from its use of the special Laser Heat Sinks in standard BattleTech lore. However, it is unlikely that Laser Heat Sinks themselves will be added to MWO as a distinct item; it is more likely that the Night Gyr will be provided with a special Quirk implementation to account for its use of Laser Heat Sinks.
Additionally, we are also evaluating the feasibility of adding a special glow effect to the Night Gyr when overheating to help distinguish the Night Gyr’s traditional use of Laser Heat Sinks, but whether this glow feature is implemented in the final design is still to be determined.

The moment you announce the Night Gyr will glow as it heats up, is the moment I will throw money at it. And not before :P

I would just like to know the purpose of so many ct variants for an omnimech? Does this mean clans are getting more quirks or just that it is a way to get more money for pokemech hunters?

I heard about glowing things, night gyr is green... so :
Does that means that, finally, a glowing in the dark mantis green color is on the way ?
My phranken need it ! and what a beautiful effect if glowing more when lighted by streets lights or even laser beams !

Glow in the dark?
Like the "old Gargoyle" with Polygon camo and florescent colors, before it was fixed? (there was a forum post about it and as usual can't find it)

P.S. Laser Heat Sinks are great for Raves/ Disco, not Combat.

1) Supported the tournament? Check!
2) Bought several Hero Mechs? Check!
3) Bought MC on several occasions? Check!
4) Bought every single clan mech pack until the Kodiak? Check!

However, until either PGI starts actually doing something positive with this game, or until another company takes over I refuse to spend my hard earned cash on your substandard effort at a game.

I have taken my stance with PGI and as hard as it is to pass up the new shiny mech pack of the month, I will not cave in. I AM DONE PGI! NO MORE MONEY FROM ME!

Note. This does not apply to the art or modeling guys. You do awesome work on the mechs!

I cant wait for this Mech! This is going to be the best clanmech ever!
Tons of tons for weapons, great variety of possible loadouts, just the slots are going to be just a few. but who cares. i am bored of the laser vomits anyway.
Finally a viable heavy clanmech without that "nose" as of the ebon jaguar and timber wolf. Twisting is possible now! ;)

Also the JJs are a nice addition (the mech got enough tons, why not?). The speed? Who cares: Marauder, Warhammer and Black Knight all have the same speed and they rule the heavy section of the IS.

I already know that this will be my new favorit mech, suitable for any situations! (Except speedruns).
It might have a little problems while brawling and vs lights due to the missing lower arm activators thoug.

Btw:
you can use the Orion IIc for trying already a few builts (if you dont have any excelsheet)

Also: It looks great! Dont know what some other kind of idiots here gonna think about it. It looks powerful! And yeah kind of like the starcraft spacemarines, but they look awesome!
