I hacked up the data files for the HGN-IIC-O to turn it into a "flexible" KDK build system. It has the hardpoints to make ANY kdk build (and HGN-IIC build, because the stock HGN-IIC loadout needed to remain possible for Li Song Mechlab to accept these changes to the data file rather than just purging it and re-parsing from game data), but that means it has way too many hardpoints. You have to keep allowable hardpoints for a particular variant in mind. Note how the top-right says "HGN-IIC-O" Posted Image

Don't pay attention to what hardpoints LSML says are available here.

Well, not similar. I just added a hell of a lot of hardpoints, upped the tonnage and HP's, and allowed JJ and MASC. It's up to the user to make legal configs.

I've tried SSW, but it's horrible to work with if you only use it for MWO. Really awful Posted Image

I downloaded that hacked file and something i noticed that you might want to note in your builds is that the hacked HGN-IIC-O you have there has one extra slot compared to KDK-1, 2, 3, 5 and SB and 1 fewer slot than the KDK-4 due to having only one hand actuator, where most Kodiaks have both hands, and the 4 has none. Its only one slot, but it would be annoying to find your build doesnt work.

yeah, I know, but it wasn't really worth fixing, as with the patch tomorrow LSML will reparse.from the data files and add proper KDK's anyways

LSML's next version will. I've been talking to her about this, and just hacked up the data files here to make do in the mean time.

That would be fantastic.

I don't really use LMSL right now, but with that feature I would and I would send off a donation straight away.

Me, too. Being able to mock up unreleased mechs has been something I've wanted since I started playing.

I've contacted every mechlab dev with the request, and been itching to throw money at whoever does it.

LSML's much prettier than it used to be, a fair bit more usable since the 2.0 update. I found before it was full of info but too cumbersome to use. Those concerns are well gone. As it can open web links to smurfy's (and export to smurfy's), I'm probably going to move to it entirely.

I tried to do it, but trying to play comp, playing other games, having a full time job, and trying to program a mechlab application takes more time than I have, so the program got the axe. It's good that someone is finally moving forward with that though, I'm kinda surprised it took this long.

heh me too, though less comp play and more rotating shift work, wife and kids. Just no time, when there where so many good mechlabs already.

Time is precious :(

I'm not a huge fan of all the E points being in the arms, the arms stick out way too much.

Spirit Bear will also be the lurmers dream mech, 4 M points and MASC.

There will never be a dream lurm mech that beats the HBK-4J pre nerf which was and probably still is the best LRM mech in the game.

Here's what lurmers value most:

1) Wasting assault slots and tonnage -
Lurmers love nothing more than giving their own team a gigantic handicap, the Spirit Bear will allow for maximum wasted tonnage

2) Ability to stay away from the front lines -
Unlike the Atlas, the Spirit Bear can actually move fast and will allow the lurmer to uselessly toss lrms all day from beyond max range

3) Combination of 1 & 2 -
Currently, lurmers can only choose 1 or 2. Either they waste maximum tonnage at the cost of speed and pick the Atlas, or they choose speed but cant waste maximum tonnage and pick either the Awesome or Mauler. Spirit Bear will allow them to pick best of both.

I think the current pace of mech releases has probably created a greater desire from users than previously (even though it was very desirable).

FTFY because there is such a thing as good lurm pilots, and his name is Jman5, the nerf just ruined his lurm days sadly.

More like average lurmers, can also replace lurms with Advanced Zoomers who hang back all game long with ER LLs or PPCs

The pocket LRM60 (without many sacrifices at all)

Would have obliterated the Hunch 2C Lurm Boat in most areas...before it was adjusted.

after watching sean lang stream with the kodiak, i'll agree it needs considerable buffs.

"This already superb mech needs extra quirks because I said so."

Very convincing.

the -1 and the -5 are already the least interesting variants imo; you probably don't want to actually use 9+ energy hardpoints, unless you're boating Slas or something (lol)

the -2 can do 2xLPL/4xMla with maybe some kind of ballistic tossed on for funsies, and it can jump (probably not much, but still.) Spirit bear looks like a fun SRM brawler, and the -3 has the quad ballistic mounts going for it.

if nothing else the -1 and -5 ought to get the mobility quirks, since driving a large 100 tonner without them is pretty obnoxious

All I've seen is the power of Kodiak's dakka and how laser meta can actually be beaten by exploiting low sustained dps of said builds, what a shock right?

You have access to a ****ing XL400. Maulers, KCs, Banshees and D-DC have no mobility quirks and forced to use 300-325 engines.
