Will play mine in a week or so, when the queue isn't at 80%.

only have had 2 drops over 32 minute waits... and those were at 5 minutes. Could be worse, judging some of the posts.

There is something nice about 4x CLPL and Gauss Posted Image

And it's weird to think there are still much more nasty ways to play it than that.

Spirit Bear is very good IMHO. Very fast and agile, does not feel like a 100 tons assault mech.
MASC is a nice addition. Not very tanky, it seems like a battlemaster with more firepower and armor.

been running my KDK3 almost exclusively so far, but I think I will be breaking down and adding the SB soon. I do figure I'll wait a couple weeks to see if any initial kneejerk nerfs hit it though, first.

Here I am stuck at work while the rest of you get to play with Mr. Chewy-bite-ems.

Any way, reading how the Assault is all stuffed up with care bares, making any drop for me argues once I do download the patch, I think I will either finish up with my HBK-IICs or play some Dreadnought.

Super happy to read that the thing is a monster though, even if it is squishy, like a 100t HBK.

well, I've only played QP so far...(mind you just 7 matches) with only 2 below 500 dmg. Seem to hover in the 700s mostly, which is what my DMG is averaging. Haven't quite got my UAC mojo tuned in yet (and this laptop/mouse combo probably ain't helping) so my Kills for Dmg could be a bit better. Did just get a nice 942 dmg/4 kill match on river city..... pity my team decided to run to the 4 winds and die, in the interim. *sigh*

Had a 12V12 Kodiak only brawl on Polar Skirmish. It was the most glorious and fast paced brawl I have seen in MWO. We won 12-11 with our last SB sitting on 20%...

It makes me a sad panda to know after today I will never see that again...

Dual UAC 10s and 5s really work great on the KDK-3. I'm getting consistent 700 dmg+ on losses and around 1000 on wins. Playing conservatively like a beefed up HBK-IIC (or to an extent the ON1-IIC) works well.

I'm a bit scared for the Spirit Bear, though. It's fast and has great alpha potential, but I'm having issues getting my KDKs to spread damage. Once you lose your arms it seems ridiculously easy for people to nail your Ct. I just don't see it lasting long in sustained brawls, similar to the ON1-IIC. I could be wrong though, since I don't actually own it myself.

Agreed, the 2UAC10/5 combo works very nicely. The SB with 2LPL, 4SRM4 and a UAC10 also works well (the MASC helps it get in and out of danger quickly). I haven't tried any of the laservomit builds yet.

Now I just need to wait another 15 mins for my next game...

Got to love the super fat Assault queue. Wonder how many T5s and T4s are being thrown to the wolves when they pilot anything but Assaults.

It's as I thought, they all fall apart from 2x volleys of 4xSRM4's-1xAC20-2xLL from my A7S-S.

Atlas FTW!!! lol

Long wait times to try this out tonight but I got a few in.......

I haven't strayed far from stock so far in my eagerness to try these mechs out, but one word stands out - HOT.

They aren't as squishy as I thought they would be from reading earlier, but they aren't super tanks, either and require judgement and discretion like all assaults.

I tried stuffing as many DHS's in them as I could to bring the heat down to less than ludicrous levels, but I'm slotting out well before I ton out.

Much mech labbing left to do on these.......

So far in 3 drops I've managed to land in the KDK-1 have left me satisfied. Seems to have better hitboxes that I imagined it would have. Has good torso twist speed with no quirks.

Arm Mounted weapons actually fire from above the waste so you don't end up shooting ground much.

-- Can we please fix the Atlas arm mounted weapons to match the KDK firing plane please! They are roughly the same size and should definitely have the adjusted to KDK levels! Posted Image Posted Image

I had two match over 500 dmg with the KDK 2.
Nearly stock with 2 ERLLs on CT, 4 ERMLs on Arms and UAC/20.
Had a blast in the Canyon map where JJs are very useful, took down a Spirit Bear just before shutting down due to overheat Posted Image .
Unfortunately I do not know clan weapons (Kodiak is my first clan mech) and I have little C-Bills to spend on the builds...
I've tried Spirit Bear, KDK-2 and KDK-3 (in order of preference), they're all fun mech to play IMHO.
I need to figure out how to build KDK-1, the stock one does not seem viable to me.
Very fun night overall, even when I bumped in a full enemy Kodiak lance and lasted 5 seconds Posted Image
