Why, uh, why exactly is this thread still going on? I think we all agree the OP is or at least was ignorant and made a post that he really shouldn't of.

lol. So Tier 2 is when the real weapons, and armor quirks for the Kodiaks get unlocked and they become the Boss Battle with more firepower than Stalkers, and Direwolves combined with Cicada speed?

Well when do they get their Real Quirks™ and Real Weapons™? I want my boss battle that the forums are promising!

All I'm findin, are silly glass jaw clan assault mechs that think they can brawl, because they have 50 guns duct taped onto their mech!

And they still do have the information and descriptions:
http://mwomercs.com/...-and-blueprint/
https://mwomercs.com/kodiak

Both links above show this is a Battlemech with Hardpoints and not OmniPods. It's even called a battlemech in the 2nd sentence of the lore link

Unlike this which clearly states
OMNIPOD HARDPOINTS

https://mwomercs.com/night-gyr

Now show me the ones for the Atlas.... the Raven???? Cataphract???

There used to be a section under the "Game" heading with clickable links for each chassis with info including the variants.... now its just a list of chassis by weight class with no info.

You used to be able to drill down to this http://gamewise.co/g...Mechs/Trebuchet I can't find screenshots of the old descriptions that were written up for the chassis on the page before these.

This is what we have now. http://mwomercs.com/...chs/light-mechs

In game, where it belongs.
Once a mech is available for sale in the store you can mechlab them and theory craft them *in game with the mech lab* without having to *exit* the game for some other source of information.

The only time it needs to be up on the website is when they are not yet in game and you can't see what the layout is - pre-orders.

For future reference, where does it say it on the FAQ page? I did not see a mention on it on the FAQ sales page as a omni mech or using omni pods...

It is childish saying that he should have read the battletech lore or its history, instead point him to where it states it on the sales page. This is mechwarrior and it did not follow exactly the battletech lore or history, clan mechs would all be better and we would have vehicles and elementals in our actual game.

Personally I do like Omni mechs for reference, main advantage omni-pod makes no single CT variant horrible, just unchangable engines and CTs.

Granted it may not say in all caps "THIS IS NOT AN OMNIMECH!!!"

But you'll notice that it has hints like "Current Engine: 400XL, *MAX ENGINE*: 400XL" and makes no mention of omnipods.

Also, if you want scary, forget the KDK-3

Take your KDK-1, give it 6-8 SPL, AC LB20X, 2 ASRM6, with a 400XL engine... slap a seismic on it and wait around a corner... ~100pt alpha... that is one scary bear!

At the time that I bought the Kodiak I was not aware it was not an omnimech either. I was informed on the forums before release that it was a battlemech, not an omnimech, and that there was in fact a difference. It didn't matter to me though. Battlemech vs. Omnimech build rules? Each have their own pros and cons. I was sure I could find a way to make it work. And boy, did I. And so did everyone else. The Kodiak is not a bad 'mech, in fact far from it. It's a good 'mech, maybe even a great 'mech. At any rate, even if I had been upset by the fact that it was a battlemech and not an omnimech I would be upset with myself, not PGI. I made that purchase before knowing what the product was when it was clearly stated if I had just done a little reading. There was no false advertising here. At any rate, I'm happy with my purchase. My Kodiak eats faces and even if it didn't, I bought it more for nostalgia than anything else since it was one of my favorites in Mechwarrior 2: Ghost Bear Legacy and Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries.

Just leaving this one statement in this thread spawned of unjustified rage:

A sale can stipulate all the details necessary to inform a customer, and most of the time the customer will still fail to grasp just what, exactly, they are getting. That is in no way the fault of the company that is selling something. The phrase "buyer beware" exists because it's ultimately the buyer's own fault if they don't pay attention to what is right in front of them. An inability to digest provided information does not, and should not, constitute an emergency on the seller's behalf.

It's a god damned shame that the society of entitlement that this modern era has become essentially mandates that the seller be willing to refund due to "customer service" issues, when it was the buyer's fault the entire time. You done fraked up, but by refunding it you deny them the profit they would have made through no fault of their own. That is awful.

It's a clan battlemech

It's hardpoints work in the same way as IS battlemechs but with clan tech(weapons/engines)

What you're thinking about is clan omnimechs like the timber-wolf/nova/stormcrow

Omnimechs can remove/change their weapon hardpoints but can't remove engines/JJ's

Battlemechs can remove all their tech but weapon hardpoints are locked.

I don't think PGI has done a good enough job informing players on the difference between Omnimechs and Battlemechs. I am surprised there are not more posts like this.

The Kingcrab outbrawls the Atlas with ease.

Uh, no. Sorry, but no. I have on multiple occasions 1v1 brawled a King Crab in a completely unelited Atlas and every single time I have won. If your Atlas can't squish a King Crab in a face to face slugfest then you've simply built your Atlas wrong.

The lore is dumb, and they listed it as a clan mech. So I guess it should have been made a lot more clear. It's a huge waste of money, regardless.

Yeah having the ability to ...

Add remove endo steel
Add remove ferro fibrious
Swap engine size
Opt for an XL or standard engine
Choose your heatsink number because none of them are fixed
Add or remove jump jets on jump capable chassis because they are not fixed equipment

Not sure where you've been for the past month but the Kodiak is definatley one of the top performing assault mechs in the game. In particular the KDK 3 and Spirit Bear. Arguably the best 100 ton mechs we have.

So if you wanted EVERYTHING plus some more then you will obviously be disappointed and probably disappointed most of the time due to having unattainable levels of expectation.

Almost nobody builds theyr KGC#s for brawling tho, which is a damn shame.
If yoru usign a meta buld atlas with 1x ac20 and some srms n stuff then ususaly a brawl buld kingcrab will have 40% more alpha potential even tho it is slower. Yes Atlai have their struckture quirks but those do not help much if you are facing an enemy that can put out similar or bigger alphas in shorter succesion.

The KGC is not a long term brawler but its Burst dps can go astonishingly high without having any ghost heat.

Not sure how this convo morphed to Krab vs Fatlas but ok...

If you build the classic 4 UAC5 Krab, yes you will lose to a AC20 + SRM24 Fatlass because no matter how much damage you are kicking out, the (smart) Fatlas pilot will torso twist when not firing to spread damage.

Meanwhile you must face him the entire tire b/c your dmg is based on continous fire where his is based on alphas so he need only pause torso twisting for a moment to fire.
