Yes, I don't attack if someone is co attacking. But sometimes during events, a pilots JJ in front just as I'm about to finish off someone. usually it's a light mech. I only attack if it's blatantly stolen. It doesn't happen as often now. most of the time I like to leg them so they are basically out of the fight.

Then the light mech was doing it wrong. She should be stealing the kill in-flight. Posted Image

"Same goes with kill thieves,"

When will folks learn that there is NO SUCH THING AS KILL STEALING in a team game?? The objective is to put down the enemy team as quickly and effectively as possible while taking the least amount of damage.

It is STUPID to allow an opponent any extra rounds of fire in which they can further damage your team mates. If I see a 1:1 fight, I immediately jump in to assist since the GOAL is to eliminate the opponents. It has nothing to do with kill stealing ... it has everything to do with team play and it doesn't matter whether it is the first or the last opponent to fall.

I'd never fire on a team mate that decided to help even if I figured I had the situation in hand. They can't tell by glancing at the situation ... they don't know my state ... it would be worse for them to stand around and let the opponent kill me then finish them off ... but I don't think I've ever seen folks play that way.

Clearly you have really ****** aim to be hitting your team mates so often. I've had like 2 tk's since this game has started and I've never had a wait time or anything so likely the problem is you.

Lets all keep ***** slapping him some more and hey someone take one for the team so that we dont get our backs shot up from him please ty.

How often does it need to be emphasized that KDR ****** do not like you stealing their kills?

Are you actually telling us that you have never seen players elbowing each other and crowding in front of your line of fire during events?

Sorry. TL/DR

This. The timer does not actually start until you press that button to queue up your next match.

I unfortunately had a TK last week. Decided it didn't matter since I had some things to do anyway. When I got back and tried to queue up about an hour later, the penalty kicked in.

EDIT** And it was a 10 second, first penalty one.

So I'm zoomed in on a baddy...fire my gauss...one of my team mates runs across the line of fire, absorbs the rounds, dies. I get a penalty and am locked out of matches for a few hours.

I did a quick look through the replies, and may have missed it, but I didn't see anyone pick up on that he had a few minutes penalty remaining after coming back later in the day, and I presume assuming that the lock out was for the entire time.

Wouldn't the few minutes penalty have simply applied upon his return and it was no more than that the whole time?

Sounds like it was a normal "first offense" penalty to me, but you didn't trigger it until a couple of hours later.

No point in reading the rest. I quoted the relevant material. PEBKAC error.

You have to TRY REAL HARD to get multi-hour TK penalties. That means you have killed multiple players in a reasonably short period of time. I don't care what excuses you make, I don't care what you try and come up with to get out of this--THIS IS A FACT.

This is a PEBKAC error, plain and simple. Stop killing teammates and your problems will go away.

Have a nice day.

Yeah why gather all relevant information when you can just blindly guess?

Otherwise, I would not really remember a week later that some idiot ate that shot, which caused me to get pissed and decide to play something else. <shrugs>

So you did notice you TK'd someone and failed to perform the trivial work around, and your failure is now also someone else's fault?

O.o

No, actually, you didn't, and if you'd read the rest you'd realize that.

Hint: there was no multi-hour penalty.

I've had one TK in...months? I know it's happened before but I can't remember when. This morning was the only one in any recent history. I played the match before going to work (740am). I had a few free hours just now, went to launch at 1035am and was given a box that says I was locked out for a few more minutes because I either TK'ed or DC'ed during a live match (the latter most certainly did NOT happen).

Penalty time starts only when you start searching for match again. I.e. if you quit the game or even left it running without actually launching into games then penalty timer didn't start at all, it only started when you came back and tryed to play. That said, a single TK with ~100 team damage or so is 10 seconds.

You kill the little ***** then you report the ****** to pgi. Just had a battle master tria (c)l shoot my team mates in the back repeatedly at the start of a match so I had to drop his ***. He didn't alpha and kill but he was certainly doing damage as the assaults that I was a part of walked to join the others. He thought he'd fool us by shooting us in the back as we moved and assumed it was a sniper. No mech in the game can move across the map that fast and do damage within two minutes of the match starting.

I have no sympathy for griefers or intentinal team killers. **** them. They are just another hostile mech and I treat them as such.

Those are your words verbatim. This is 100% PEBKAC. You did it/didn't do it/wrote it wrong/explained it wrong--it doesn't matter. This is PEBKAC all the way.

I don't take your approach... but i have been very tempted!

A different variant of late, especially when i'm playing assault, is faster heavies and mediums running in front of me, completely blocking my firing line and then either proceeding to tank damage my assault would have better handled and dying or watching as they try to back up straight into me... I'm assuming they thought the mech I was engaging was more heavily damaged than it was...

I don't see a point. You made the original post a day ago--that's over twenty four hours ago. You've had ample time to adjust and correct the first post to accurate reflect your original intended point. You have not done so. Your quote stands.

Have a nice day!
