This is a good example b/c the total is almost exactly 400k so PT and hero + event bonus should both be ~ 1/4 of 400k... which they are...

They'll only do that if they fix what they did wrong with Faction Warfare's 'Phase 3' Contract Systems. They've already lost enough people that I see overly high queue times now in many Factions. You can't take the inviting feeling out of multiplayer games without killing them.

The logistics of it aside, what's the downside of everyone's National holiday getting some love from PGI? We'd all benefit! The more money Russ and his team make from their product, the more they can reinvest, in the form of more and better servers, improved code, and more 'mechs. I'll be more than happy to strap in for the Lichtenstein Day weekend event and stock up on XP, consumables, and cockpit goodies.

B/C as we've seen in the past too many people take international events/holidays/activities far too seriously and patriotic griefing ensues.

Remember when the terrorists attacked in France? PGI tried to show solidarity and what happened? So many people flamed the forums b/c they felt somehow slighted (though I guess for once several historically opposed groups agreed on something).

So I would say trying to milk the national holidays will just create more bs overhead because they'll need to expend resources to find and include holidays for all represented groups (no matter how minor their population may be) because no matter how hard they try, someone will feel left out and butthurt.

No butthurt happening here, I'm just trying to get more event weekends for my favorite game. I do remember the France attacks and applauded PGI's response to them. I didn't frequent the forums back then, so I had no idea there was any negative reaction to PGI. You are right that if every holiday were observed by PGI, we'd have 52 event weekends ever year and cheapen the whole experience. I respectfully withdraw my request for a Memorial Day event. Thanks for the lively discourse.

Is your mech a HERO or a CHAMPION model.. If Yes... they get 20% extra. If No...then get squat.

Founders, Specials, Resistance, anything with bracketed letters that isn't a "C" do not count for this event.

Well, that's unfortunate. PGI was just trying to be charitable, and they get flamed? I would welcome more flags given in situations where they're responding with charity to Terrorist attacks! Damn those people who would be rude towards those being kind to their fellow humans! To hell with politics and patriotism, because this world should have become unified and peaceful long ago! Like, I wouldn't ask for a holiday-specific event. But, just a "play one game, get a flag" thing should still be allowed, because of the kindness PGI's showing after a disaster happened. If there's one thing that can be said, it's that Terrorists don't know political bounds, and they don't care about them. Politics should therefore take a hike as well, instead of the moron-type response that people gave PGI over their charity against the Terrorism in France!
