So, yeah, I'd be running around with my big nose out for everyone to shoot off.

I don't really have one favorite goto mech when things get rough. I guess I'd say I tend to go to a class of mech instead (Heavy Mechs).
Anyway, I tend to pick the Marauder (BH or 3R), Ebon Jaguar, or if things look really tough, the Timber Wolf.
Like I've said before though, I like piloting All different mechs, do generally I tend not to latch onto just one.
P.S. I do still like the Hunchback though (4P is my ride).

Variant and loadout is too top secret to share it.
But if I had to go into real life mech combat that would be without a doubt the mech Id ask for.

REAL mech combat? Energy boat, for sure. Nova Cat Prime most likely. No ammo means fewer logistics to deal with IRL. Plus, fully functional Clan ERPPC are unholy terrors. :3
Mmm. With chrome trim on the CNC Alpha paint scheme. Not like it's hiding from view, anyways.

5 tons of ammo is 25 shots which is enough but if you run out early a lot you can take one heatsink out of the engine
400 SRM ammo, you only carry 2 tons in yours and that is a shame because 24 missiles at once will eat a lot of ammo quickly
The build is totally doable with the changes I made, you really should consider more ammo for the SRMs
your build does not contain enought heatsinks to effectively brawl against more than 1 oponent. you are also missing AMS , which even if many thinks is detrimental does add up for more defence. 2 tons of srm ammo is more than enought in most cases (430 damage in ammo and often I do not run out due to how hot my mech runs or the ranges of the fight, it is also only a backup weapon incase the lasers and gauss do not bring down the enemy far enought before the sorter ranged brawl begins and a great measurement to finish of lights)
25 shots of gauss ammo is also still 750 damage in ammo (if you can aim that would also be ~7 headshot kills with crits more if you finish of enemys with the Mlas or srms)
This build can carry and does go far when it comes to damage. thsi match I got quite some assists and only 1 headshot at the end of the game against the last arctic cheese I also still had 4 gauss rounds and 56 srm ammo left. Despite being at the front of the team all the time.
Usualy I do arround 2-3 solo kills (or 3-4 kkmd) with arround 400-500 damage due to how pinpoint both laser and gauss are. the Reason why I have that gauss amo where it is? to avoid getting head critted /tanking crits hitting the side torso. I also do not pad the arms as much, because who would shoot of those, on a kingcrab , where you can allways hit center or side torsos.

Lol.
My promiscuity ends with mechs. If I lived in Utah and carried this philosophy over to wives, I'd probably go mad.
My one soon to be wife can be exhausting as is . She's a really good woman though, so I can't complain .

Alpha is 70 damage + double tap 110. gets hot till 90ish % after that, but lifesaver after you get out a corner and you face a enemy heavy under 200 meters.
318,484 damage with this build, there wasnt a flood of tears back then because there werent zillion quad10 DWFs around.
but that's my mech.

Pretty Baby.
2 ERPPC and some streaks is all it has....And that XL400 engine for some get up and go. She's a skirmisher and a very good one in my hands.

yet i prefer it with 3MPL+3ASRM6 XL375 18DHS. 22DPS with 56 alpha isnt that bad.
EDIT:
managed to put in a 400XL and still 18DHS. just a bit lower leg and right arm armor.

If the Awesome is ever appropriately sized and if PPC's ever deal damage under 90m again (and have better hit-reg), I may bring back my Awesome 8Q with 3 PPC's and 1 medium laser, but I admit I sold it since the flaws in the mech and the weapon I wanted to use were too much, and I just couldn't stand making yet another laser boat.

My Hunchback is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.
Without me, my Hunchback is useless. Without my Hunchback, I am useless. I must fire my Kaliyama true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will...
My Hunchback and I know that what counts in war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is the hits that count. We will hit...
My Hunchback is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its barrel. I will keep my Hunchback clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will...
Before Kerensky, I swear this creed. My Hunchback and I are the defenders of my people. We are the masters of our enemy. We are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until victory is the Commonwealth's and there is no enemy, but peace!"
Some of you will get the idea. Some won't. But for most of us there is simply that one mech that we always return to. Just as a soldier in war forms an almost superstitious bond with his rifle. You don't just grab ANY rifle when the bullets start flying, but yours. Because you know yours liek the back of your hand. You know you can depend on it, no matter what. What others might perceive as flaws in your rifle, you know are marks of it's character.
So it should be with mechs. Despite the trends, the Metas, if you had to stop and choose just one mech to use exclusively from now on in MWO, what would it be? Think carefully. Metas change, and are fickle, like a vain gold digger. What you depend on today to dominate might well betaken away in the next capricious pass. A good mech is one you know you can rely on, regardless the Meta. It may never be sexy, but it also never let's you down.
What's that mech, for you?
This is my Hunchback. Others tell me it needs less ammo. Needs a bigger engine. But this is MY Hunchback. And chances are high that it has killed you. Because this is my Hunchback.
So again, when the chips are down, the Meta uncertain, what is YOUR Mech?
You get a like for HBK-4G love. And yes you want a bit less ammo and a 250/255 engine in it. Speed to get to where that AC20 can do its job and the speed to get out when they realize you're a real threat to their ***.

great minds....lol
I ran mine again just this last weekend. Solid 3 kills running around Polar Highlands flanking like a beast.
Then I saw someone else running one last night with 7 kills. 3 MPL and 3 SRM6 I think (I thought it was a couple LPL, but that doesn't fit with a decent engine). Think I may try this build on my 9M with the 385XL and SRM4s instead of 6s.
