Overwtach is only 6 vs 6?

That's why it doesn't lag -- it doesn't have 12 vs 12.

Yeah I would give a **** if Overwatch wasn't literally just a less awesome version of Team Fortress 2. That is literally all it is. Just not as good. TF2 is funny, creative, and it is also FREEEEEEEEEE. Overwatch is just Blizzard's attempt to try and cash in on the FPS market because the ****** up World of WarCraft so bad that their subscriber count dropped to the lowest it has ever been before they turned off the counter (so people couldn't see their failure).

Blizzard is a company that I personally hate, and wish it had gone under years ago because it hasn't put out an innovative or even remotely fun game since Diablo 2 in my opinion.

1. TF2 released in 2007 as part of the $50 Orange Box bundle or $20 standalone with half the content Overwatch has now. 3 game modes, spread across 6 maps, with only 9 characters and zero customization. It was still a great game, but let's have some perspective here. It also didn't go free to play until 2011.

2. You're comparing a game that's been out less than 3 weeks to one that's had nearly a decade of polish and content updates from the developer and the community. Chill. It's not as if Blizzard is some fly by night company that doesn't support its games post-launch. Diablo 2 got a patch this year for heaven's sake.

3. Blizzard didn't **** up World of Warcraft. People just moved on to the next big thing, which is MOBAs. The MMORPG genre as a whole isn't exactly flourishing. The fact that WoW still had 5.5 million subscribers in October of last year is kind of amazing, considering the game's over a decade old.

4. Wishing a game company goes under and thousands of people lose their jobs because you don't personally enjoy the games they make is kind of a crap attitude to have there.

If Blizzard made MW:O, it would look more like Mario Kart than it would Mechwarrior. So, count your blessings that the Canadians got their hands on it first.

You know, I would actually welcome a more cartoony art style, if that would mean we would get a proper game with it.

I spend probably 90% of my computer game playing time on Overwatch now compared to MWO. I'm not exactly a fan of the art style but the unique characters and skillsets make for excellent gameplay. There is no hero that is "useless" like 50% of the mechs in MWO. There are actual ROLES in Overwatch like tank/sniper/skirmisher/support compared to the still non-existent, promised role warfare.

I'm really of the opinion that we need to just let MWO die so that someone else can pick up the IP.
The longer this game stays alive the worse off mechwarrior / battletech fans will be.

Thank you, this so much. Overwatch just managed to do so many things right that MWO attempted to do, but failed horribly.

Both Blizzard and PGI have talented staff, the problem for PGI is in the leadership. It seems they have an ego problem where "it's my way or the highway..." and all who disagree should fear for their job. (Take ECM, for example...)

You can read this on glassdoor, leadership is toxic.

Gonna address 1 and 2 as a combined point here. I think it is perfectly fair to compare Overwatch to TF2 as it is now because that's what the current most comparable alternative is. yes 2007 TF2 was a lot worse but guess what, you cant play 2007 TF2 anymore whereas Overwatch in the state its in now is the thing we are expected to play and pay money for right now. As it is right now I have no interest in buying Overwatch, maybe after a bit of developement it might be something worth buying but we have to address the situation as it is now not how we want it to be in the future.

3 & 4 are fair points, I cant deny WOWs success even if I dont like what its done to the genre and gaming as a whole. I also think its short sighted and childish to wish for something to fail just because you dont like the people behind it, especially considering if MWO fails its simply more incentive for companies not to touch the IP since its proven it cant be successful in the current gaming environment. I'd rather have what we have now than lose everything just to satisfy somebodies personal dislike.

BLizzard used to be really good at making games. The Warcraft/Starcraft and the first few years of WoW were amazing. Then, they decided the best people to make games for were the "ooh, shiny!!!!" crowd. Everything they've done since (Heroes of the Storm, Hearthstone, Overwatch), are just blatant copies of other games and Warcraft/Starcraft are just Warhammer ripoffs. Blizzard is successful, but I don't think they've had a lot of "good" games for a very long time. In much the same way Bieber is successful. He might sell a lot of albums/songs, but I doubt anyone over the age of 14 would call his "music" "good".

Nonsense.. Tribes 2 had 16vs16 and even 32vs32 which didnt lag 15 years ago with 7kb/s links where i lived.
12 vs 12 is only a problem when you run your network code all through scripting instead of C/C++.
