I have none, absolutely none, and so much a lack of patience that I despise the word patience.

So when we (we as the community) hear of little tid bits such as, "Well after the production meeting today it's clear that the next few patches are going to be huge."

Or

"There are some very important and overdue features such as mech scaling and command wheel."

Or

"But perhaps most exciting is the fact that players will have never seen this amount of polish and bug fixing."

I get excited but then it takes only a few hours or a day at max and I start looking like ...

Waiting for more details and juicy facts that I can start dreaming on with how to impliment them into my mechs or game play so I can dominate the battlefield.

SO FOR THE LOVE OF GIVE ME MORE DETAILS!!!

The tweet that drew my attention was the one where Russ said they'd tripled the environment design staff. My hope is that the introduction of new maps at a much quicker pace is the result.

It feels like PGI needs an act of Congress to actually put some details out. Sadly I doubt even that would work because PGI being in Canada after all.

What is more details going to do for you? Oh I know it will be more things that we can throw in PGIs face once they are surely poorly done and almost certainly late or delayed.

Oh, I don't know, maybe more details might get some folks excited about the game, about upcoming features, about things coming soonTM

Anything is better than nothing, and with all the sullenness around here lately, even a little bit of info goes a long way. Heck just look at how excited people got from the vague tweets of Russ's up above, merely because it showed he wasn't MIA. A little bit more content and he might actually get some folks revved up and talking positively about the game -instead of doing what we've been doing for the last week, namely b it ching.

Deckals are a great microtransaction idea. X MC for a stock deckal, X MC over that for custom deckals. Put in game reporting for Inappropriate Deckal. I have often wondered why there hasn't been these in game before. Pure revenue stream.

Talk is cheap and nothing to put hopes on...that is the lesson learned dealing with PGI. You know what is better than nothing? Delivering a good game play experience and there is no amount of talk before hand that is necessary for that. Both would be amazing but we know they can't accomplish both at the same time let alone the prior 5 years later. We are not dealing with a well run dev team here.

What if they aren't giving details so that if they don't have the finished product at the level of the original idea no one will know...

Details help fill boredom with something to sift through to think about builds or game play statistics.

Way better talking points than, "PGI sucks because of ..."

As a software developer myself, let me tell you a little bit about the work behind a sofware (actually the same as everywhere else, but many people believe we just push three buttons and a new feature is done).
- Things, even those that appear trivial to the user, are complex. Insanely, absurdly complex.
- Things never go as planned. People gett sick or leave or just make usual mistakes. Details turn out to be MUCH more complex during implementation, no matter how well-designed they were beforehand. Third party tools make problems, throw you back days or weeks in your progress without any fault of your own (personally, sometimes I get the feeling every software is crap built upon crap which is built upon another crap and all that crap piles up until it's a miracle that anything ever worked to any degree at all)
- You are never, NEVER on schedule if you want to do "everything right" (nice features, full testing, documentation, etc). I'm not talking about days here, but months.

As far as more information is concerned:

I'd like to have those, too, but I also know:
- Customers will hold every single word, every syllable of premature information before you. You can NEVER win by giving out information earlier than absolutely necessary/final and it's because of the immaturity of customers, not because of the developers.
- Investing time to nicely compile unfinalized information takes a LOT of time. And guess what gets even further delayed by it.

Bottom line:
Things are complex. Be patient.
Sorry, this is reality.

Of course ... where have you been when Russ took a week or 2 away from twitter. Heck the community thought the MWO world was going to end, and even Bishop Steiner had a thread about where was Russ.

Enjoying Witcher 3 and all DLC. I have been lurking, but also questioning what reasons should I log in and comment on? Apathy closes wallets, and game clients.

Edit: I logged in because I am happy to see deckals coming, as a revenue stream. I am happy to know the resize patch is coming. Cautiously optomistic. So I have commented on a few items.

I have to ask: is MWO the only game you play?

And the fact that Congress has not done anything, ANYTHING, of real value in decades.
