A question we will never know the answer to since beta players are not currently allowed to identify themselves in this forum.

And since the selection is entirely random amongst all classes of founders, chances are the ratio of Legendary:Elite:Veteran pretty well aligns with the ratio of purchases.

Likely more - but only because mathematically there are more $120 contributors. As far as who gets picked, they have stated it is completely random among founders.

Plus some of the biggest push in beta giveaways I believe was before founders went on sale...I think.

I'm sure in the limited closed beta they want quality testers so that will be what drives selection.

What you put down on your application will be far more of a determining factor than what you plunked down on a founders pack.

Anyways on august 7th everyone gets in regardless so its pretty much a moot point.

I think its worth waiting until released, for there could be more patches and bug fixes over time. :)

i just don't like the fact that they chose to limit the last round of closed beta keys to founders. they are getting what they payed for and now the devs are feeding them more. In my humble opinion its not good to encourage entitlement while alienating others who cant afford to buy a founders pack at this time.

but Aug 7th is for founders only everyone else is later so your only half right on everyone gets in

Considering the Beta testers are wiped back to zero on Aug 7, I cannot imagine any entitlement occuring...

I'm assuming you are talking about the last round of Beta access.

As of 7/11, there were 16,009 Founders. I would assume their pick was random, so this SHOULD be your chances as a founder (approx)...

Legendary (9,323) = 58%
Elite (5,941) = 37%
Veteran(745) = 5%

Link to thread...

Just a guess off of a lot of assumptions

you know, it's only a beta, so it's not for "woah fun fun fun" it is used to look for bugs in the game, and testing... so i think it is okay, because in other games ppl they buy a pre order pack get in beta or they can play the game 5day before release... so i think it's normal

The thread is about founders so I assumed that part was already implied.

I assume all "founders" have an equal (random) chance of being selected.

Why would you be concerned over this? Are you concerned that MWO isn't operating things "Fairly?" Don't get me wrong I understand everyone wants to get in the Beta testing (I know I've been pre-warming my mech since I first heard about this). I learned a long time ago life isn't fair, but asking this kind of question is even more unfair. It's the kind of thing that says, "I'm not getting a fair shake." It implies that the devs are playing favorites and that kind of implication leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The last thing this community needs is rumors going around that some people are being given special consideration, because that will leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Beyond that how would anyone every get that kind of information, let alone make if public. My apology if I seem too harsh, but this is the kind of innuendo (an indirect remark or gesture that usually carries a suggestion of impropriety) that starts the gossip train and once it gets going its hard to stop.

If on the offhand your question was just one of curosity, I'd ask that you still consider all that I mentioned above the next time your thinking of asking a question, especially one involving a game still in development that has a NDA in place for everyone directily involved. Besides if the devs felt it was necessary to release that kind of information to us they would have. Personally I'm just happy for all those players who got to do Beta testing and pray that thier input will get the rest of us in game all that much quicker with as few hiccups as possible.

Only the devs would know as those that have beta would be under an NDA that would prohibit them from speaking out. I do not think it would be a big deal as the beta pick was random if i recall correctly and founders get in Aug 7. So Aug 7th, we, the founder folk, can say all got in? :)

I'm sure that any founders that are picked for review are random as any other method would be far too time consuming.

But after getting picked its still going to be down to what they are looking for and what you put on your application so you can still get rejected and suffer a -pending- disappointment. :)

They want to encourage founders as much as possible because the mre founders they can get, the more development money they have. It also sets the president that will get people to pay for things in the future, a key point in their buisness model.

Open beta shouldn't be too far away and info from clueless beta testers posting quickly deleted questions in the normal forums it seems the closed beta is not much fun atm with lots of bugs and glitches.

It is funny how some young kids don't understand how a business works, and considering MWO is free to play, you should thank the founders for supporting a game so you can play for free. They are also generous enough to test it for you on their own time.

It would make no sense to then ignore paying customers, if you want an equal chance then pay up. Sorry that is the way the world is.
