Battlemech, not an omni-mech... big difference interms of ability for MWO. The Assassin can hit the sweet spot for engine size to tonnage to weapons payload, the Viper is just on the outer edge of that zone, and the Black Lanner didn't just go past that spot, vomiting all over it first. I also said on the first page, that it wasn't anything I had any love for, but I'm not against it, as there are strong options in the medium bracket already.

Yea Metus.
I'm asking for the Assassin from years... I'm a light and medium pilot, I know it would be perfect for my tastes.

Assassin would be very cool, but I personally want the Whitworth and Clint more. Also, the Sentinel would be cool too, this game needs more 40 tonners.

The Assassin is the IS medium mech I'm looking forward the most to feature in MWO.
It has everything:

- 40 tonner (a tonnage not well explored yet);
- a light/medium IS missile boat (there is none currently, except the Oxide);
- nostalgia factor: it's one of the mechs in the basic TT box;
- fast and with jump jets;
- can look absolutely cool and unique.

For light, I want the classics (Wasp, Stinger and Valkyrie) and the Javelin (which shares a lot of features of the Assassin).

BTW, Bishop, that art in the OP is the best Assassin ever.

I like this :

Then yes, the Assassin would be very nice because, although some says "it's like a cda", it's not true: hell, it has JJ!!
And human legs, not those big chicken ones.

I hope PGi will read and approve this thread....

wants are all good.

Though TBH not really sure what the Whitworth (Slow, probably similar hardpoints to ASN101) Clint (Seems the optimize of MEH) or Sentinel (Weaker Cicada)... but when it comes to what we like, "meta" don't really matter.

an MWO version would probably be closer to that overall.

Sounds like a good mech to include in MWO. I just want the abbreviation of ***...then I could have a MAD/*** drop deck.

Or to the canon battletech art.

I'm still all for getting this one into the game though.

It sits perfectly between a Panther and a Vindicator. But you can be much more scouty since you are sooo much faster. Just carry less weapons and throw in a big XL. You can even run away when things get as bad as expected. Just so much better than using a Griffin altough it's got the same movement archetype. And more payload. And more armor. And hardpoint placement. And XL friendlyness.

Pure gold the Assassin, gamechanger even.

Well, it's ok I guess:

4x ASRM4 with 4 tons of ammo while being able to jump and move at ~122kph. It brings something new-ish into the IS stable so I support it!

IS SRM4, especially in close mounts, don't really need Artemis. Thus tossing a pair of MPL in the right arm and you can do more, easily enough.

See that's why I want the Whitworth, it could be a bigger Oxide everyone could get, plus there is a laser variant that folks might like more than the "Leggy" Cicada.

Honestly though, I just want more mechs that aren't assaults and heavies.

Well, i't made for Scouting where the 'Mech is not expected to last long. It's to be picked when you are hesitating to choose Oxide or GRF-2N.

I would put 2 Medium Lasers, add 2 extra jump jets and 1 extra ton of ammo.

PS: the Left Arm doesn't have hand actuator and the right arm doesn't need full armor.

Nice to know! This could be significant on IS 'Mechs where you are strapped for tonnage and crits!

since when does the left hand not have a hand actuator? I think you are being dyslexic my friend.

Anyhow
I was thinking

Endo
300xl (130.6 kph)
3 JJ (39.55 meters)
10 DHS
252 Ferro Armor
H-9
CT/ R- 43/5
RT/R- 35/5
LT/R- 35/5
RA- 24
LA- 6
RL- 38
LL-38

2x ML (RA)
2x SRM4 (RT) 2x SRM Ammo (RT)
2x SRM4 (LT) 2x SRM Ammo (LT)

would be a solid fun little guy.

Dunno about the shape, could end up being a plumper Wolfhound.

As far as the engine cap.... room for moar missiles! ... and it has jumpjets so that might help. It could be a smaller griffin as well.

I would rather have the Javelin than the Whitworth though and let you get your Assassin.

Hey I don't wanna crap on your Whitworth (battletech fans have done that enough for 30 years) just wanna keep expectations real.

Since buying the Introductory Battletech Boxed set last year I've come to have a new respect for the Whitworth. It's got a lot of more obscure mechs that didn't used to be in the 2nd Edition set.

I still want the Dervish though. I've been wanting that thing since MW:O got announced! It's a terrific 55-tonner, they even had a poll a long-*** time ago to see what we'd want in this game and it won! Who'd have thought we'd have Unseens before that thing?

I love the Vulcan, but I don't know if it would be any good in MW:O. Hardpoints might be something like 1 energy in the right arm where the flamer is, 1 ballistic in the left for the machine gun. 2 energy in the left torso with the medium laser, and 2 ballistic in the right with the AC/2? Maybe it would be an okay light hunter, but I dunno.

That said, I quite like your idea for the Dark Death, Bishop. The mix of machine guns and streaks with a BAP would make it pretty fun for hunting down lights. As it is I rely on my Wolverine 7D with its MASC for that. I love seeing people who are usually so smug in their Spiders try to run in fear when they realize they're in trouble.

Basically a hybrid between a Panther and a Vindicator combining the unique strenghts of both!

Since these two Mechs are among the most fearsome IS chassis currently in the game I'd say a must have for every genuine sphere loyalist and a worthy addition to every FW dropdeck.

I'm all for you guys buying it.

Day 1.

Early adopter.

Gotta pass myself though. You know, dropdeck limitations and stuff.

hmm for some reason my sarcasm detector seems to be going off...how odd.

Fully endorse this Mech. The best art in my opinion is the one where its in the flames. I like yours Bishop. The MWO'y one is ok also. The TRO.......well lets not talk about it. Now if there is a pack. Lets hope if you get the collector, you get a "police pooch" thrown in for Urbie pack backers. Posted Image
Any mech that has nostalgia and good art will be a winner in my book. These last few clan releases I am not familiar with and they are not the best looking. And meta' stacking whine bags saying DOA not enough points. Man the spirit of Battletech dies every day because of this.
