Maybe they want heavy and assault queues to reach an all time high?
I can imagine it already: You round the corner and think "Omg! A Marauder. Now I am in trouble."...then you realize it is just a Locust

Sounds like the 35t will get bigger, and others may get smaller

Most likely there will be some nerf coming. Maybe just a reduction of the structure quirks or something. Similar to what they did on the Cheetah. But right now, an Oxide running around in your back lines definitely gets more attention than any other light because people know how dangerous they are.
A few other lights, such as the Huggins, Panthers, and Wolfhounds also got structure quirks, but they don't have the firepower of the Oxide.

To sum it up:
Lights (and many mediums) Hard mode
Heavies (and many assaults) Easy mode

Buff the other lights.

Pretty sure I recall an old tweet from Russ having the Locust ~7 - 8% oversized. Most the mechs I play regularly are either "just right" or getting bigger (i.e. Crab). The lawnmower sized locust is what I'm banking on being soooo much fun if that 7% downsizing is still true.

Just as stupid as assault mechs that can do 60+ points of damage and take 7 to 8 shots to kill

Yeah like I said. Heavies and assaults want to corner the market in being the only thing feared. Yet there are few lights that can challenge them and they whine

Insane damage soaking. Sheesh. Structure buffs or not. Jenners are the easiest lights to CT. You and I have very different opinions of insane alpha. Oxide. 32 Any heavy or assault 60+

Is the problem that it is in the top three? Or that it's seemingly the best and nothing else comes close?
Personally I don't have a problem running my Arctic Cheetah's as opposed to my Oxide. It's all about the cbill bonus for me.
And from watching my buddy use his Spider, that seems pretty comparable to the ACH. The Locust and Raven have zero appeal to me because of lack of loadout/lack of being to take damage. I say that because I really don't know what I'd do differently with either one of those compared to the Oxide/ACH and I typically take a lot of damage with both, and neither of those seems OP as far as tanking damage. I can't imagine what it's like with something smaller.
If PGI does that they'll have destroyed two of my Hero mechs. First the Dragon Slayer, then Oxide.
The spider isn't remotely comparable to an arctic cheetah. The best spider has ECM and three energy hard points while the ACH has ECM and 6 energy hard points (plus many other good options). The spider can be a bit faster but that is about it and it doesn't have clan weapons or heat sinks.
I've mastered some spiders and in my opinion the ACH is strictly better. It is still possible to do well in a spider (particularly using ERLL ECM sniper versions) but overall the ACH does it better.

That was never a problem before. Answering powercreep with more powercreep is stupid.

You joined before me, you should know good light pilot were always feared. We just lowered the bar into the ground for any average joe to do good with them.

As much as I hate repeating myself in every thread:
There are people in this game that can aim.
If an Assault gets facetanked by a Light thats an Assault pilot problem.
Proof your point. Take a Locust, a Raven, a Firestarter, something with structure quirks. Show me a video how you do all that.
I can´t count the number of times I have seen an Oxide with no point of armor left. When a leg is stripped, take it of. When the gigantic CT is stripped, kill it. What people have to realize is that they WILL eat an alpha from a Light. It is fast. Take it and aim while he comes at you. Shoot a weak spot. There are reasons the Light queue is always the lowest.
Wait... oxide pilots attack head on now?
Damnit... i though the light queue had finally gotten over that stupidity after the hit reg fixes...

I'm pretty sure I didn't say insane alpha.
