That quickdraw concept art is so damn good and the in game model has never done it justice.

Yeah...
In my opinion (which makes it 100% objective fact) Quickdraw is the mech that suffered the most during the Concept - 3D model transition. Sure, there is the Enforcer and a few other culprits, but no mech had it as bad as the Quickdraw.

This is why PGI can continue to provide a mediocre product at best. People get excited about something like re-scales that will have negligible effect on gameplay. Mind you PGI didn't do any of this right the first time, just like everything else they do. But hey...it distracts from the real issues because they are working on it ZOMGERD! The TBR is gonna be a little squatter....whooptee-frikin-do. This rescale thing just allows PGI reason to spin their wheels without making actual improvements.

It will have more than a negligible effect. Mech profile and hardpoint placement are just as important as the quirks.

Nope...It will be negligible because once the mechs with preferred geometry and hard points are found out and became the tier 1 mechs the game remains as it is now essentially only rotating the preferred used mechs. Quirks just dictate to the player what they have to use per chassis which is an moronic way to achieve balance but PGI didn't see that of course.

So it will essentially be negligible.

If the gap between the top tier mechs and lower tier mechs are close enough (perfect mech balance will never be achieved as there are too many variables) then that will be quite significant.

I actually think that the mech size and tonnage available for those mechs has the opportunity to close that gap somewhat.

Bujesus, negative nancy much?

Chill out dude. Save the negativity until after we see exactly what is changing and how, and then how it actually feels in the field.

To be totally honest I am most hyped about the new Catapult model. That thing looks divine, if any of the other remodels/rescales look half that good I will be dead chuffed.

My point is the rescale won't do much for the game other than shift which mechs are top tier. Just trivial in spite of 12v12 TDM over and over and over.

So Russ just mentioned that beyond the rescale, the TBR and Mad dog are getting a little lower in their stances because the looked like they were on tip-toes.

IT'S ABOUT TIME.

I've been pushing for this since at least September 2014... though apparently my thread about it was deleted for some reason. Odd.

negliable impact? dude the emchs geometry is a mjor aspect of balancign and balancing issues the game suffers. better balance means more diversity and thats more fun than seeing and all the same chasis all day.

You all would like to think this wouldn't you. Like I said the tier 1 mechs will be found fast and then everything will be the same as it is now with minor variations to the current list. If that equals better balance then so be it. That is still negligible in terms of gameplay. Just because a mech gets a squattier stance or profile is reduced by some small percentage won't at all of solve the balance issues or make me want to play the trash tier mechs. Then comes another quirk wave. Sweeping changes of balance are part of the process and nothing to get excited about when players just gravitate to the new next optimal thing. They still don't give you a reason to log in and play 12v12 TDM for the 10,000 time, that is for sure.

We have 2 very vocal Community Members who are saying that Mech rescale will do nothing for the game and merely distracts us from the real flaws.

Then we have *everybody else* who is looking forward to this because it will improve our enjoyment of the product.

Grips, Sader, I hope you like eating coconuts and dressing in grass skirts...

they've both been residents for as long as I can recall. *shrugs*

Some islanders are friendlier than others, I guess. With their bleak outlook, I wouldn't bet on coconuts.... probably more like the Aleutian Islands...

Argues that the rescale would shift the meta and completely shuffle mech tiers... says this is a negligible impact on the game. Leaves me concerned the word "negligible" is being misused.

I assume that everything Grips and Sader say is hyperbolic nonsense and take it with a pinch of salt. When I agree with either of them I tend to stop and rethink my position.

Not saying they are always wrong, but since both get off on belittling others and trolling for trollings sake I just like to take a moment and make sure my position is sound.
