Steam numbers are meaningless, they dont account for all MWO players, and steam users are the kind of people who flit from one game to the next. MWO is fine, put your tinfoil hat away.

I think the really sad truth is this game has a steep learning curve.
And most human's lack the simple intelligence or the patience for it.
I like it because I'm edumacated hahaha.

Tier 1 mech plus lasers plus convergence...that sure is a high bar. Need at least a 6th grade edumacation I reckon.

Look on the bright side, this will just make it easier for everyone in CW to ghost drop! That's what everyone wants...right? Posted Image

I don't trust statistics. The end of all things comes when it does and complaining on a web forum won't stop it or bring about the end sooner.

Heh, looks like mwo is doing better than battleborn. Which sucks for 2k but is a fitting karmic punishment for everyone they screwed with the BL:TPS season pass.

More importantly the data you really want is the total number of individual users and without that you can't really say how mwo is doing other than saying that player retention is rather poor.

Pgi loves to piss off their own playerbase by introducing
1) auto-rekt in cw (long tom)
2) lame tag changing system in fp and too many cease fires( planets stolen when you sleep)
3) terribad map design (new forest, vitric, therra)
4) lame quirk assignment: IS laser vomit Op
5) ZERO CHEATING CONTROL: you ban teams from tournment for PRIVATE MESSAGE ON FACEBOOK AGAINST A NON PARTICIPANT (thus, not a code violation), but scrubs come out of nowere with aimbots and than vanish.
6) No TUTORIAL for noobs on how to use that super complicated cw interface that is everything but user friendly.
7) no depth in upgrading defenses on your own planet.

eh...

well I'm back after 2 years and I like the changes and improvements. the game is fun in several ways. maybe because I was gone so long I'm not burned out and jaded. I was getting burned out before I 'left' 2 years ago but that was only because I'd mastered every variant of every class, and I'm not exagerating hehe. I wish I was....

I was surprised how much had changed tbh. and the changes are great imo. could things be better? there is always room for improvement.

I don't use steam (anymore) so maybe the steam chart is a tad irrelevant. I seem to find games quick whether solo pug'n in my sissy tier 4 bracket or group dropping with all my tier 1 buddys.

It's a factor of many things and you can't pin it on a single one.

I stopped playing a month and half ago once it became obvious we're just going to continue to get exponentially diminishing returns from PGI. That and they've stopped focusing on making the game fun and have instead made it all about some arbitrary notion of balance they have stuck in their isolated minds (though arguably this has been going on for quite some time).

I still stick around the forums because you guys amuse me so.

PGI guys..please stop selling new mechs..you need to keep the customers satisfied..and this route is going straight into hell.
We need a skilled marketing manager, one good roadmap for the upcoming 12 months..not a commanderwheel...there will be no pilots to command, can t u see that?
check the graph and try to fix this shame.
my 2 cents

the last hurrah was steam launch... think its about to go maintenance mode... because feature complete™

You know, I haven't really seen any advertising for this game since IGP left.

I mean, I see stuff for World of Tanks pretty often, but now MWO.

And, really, I first learned about this game from an advert so...

What's that you say?!... The sale and usage of mittens and thermal underwear goes down in the spring/summer!!!

It's amazing the effort to draw correlation through a keyhole to MWO tanking... Posted Image

I could care less about Steam stats. These threads are like going to a Jimmy Buffet concert. It happens every summer and you already know all the words to the songs.

Why does the chart drop off and fluctuate after mid-March? It wasn't that controversial a patch...

I know after that came the flamer hotfix. Am I missing or forgetting something?

idk man it's likely the diehards are becoming all that's left. Nothing wrong with that but PGI's profit margin has to be shrinking if it's not already in the red.

I think the core of BT/MW has always been the diehards. Its summer and I know a lot of us need more vitamin D. I generally play 5-6 days a week. I took a break last week b/c of leveling exhaustion and I discovered "Darkest Dungeon." Which I would highly recommend if you want tough, even brutal AI.

They need to just step out of their comfort zone. Implement Solaris. That'll bring people back if only to try. Then get crazy with new modes. Some non-pvp modes might also be good. Even if it breaks down into a mini game of sorts. Like hunting down supply convoys.

Now here is an outrageous thought... perhaps they can rebuild a following by actually implementing what has been left out of the game, building on what was achieved with MPBT back in the early 90s.
