PGI guys..please stop selling new mechs..you need to keep the customers satisfied..and this route is going straight into hell.
We need a skilled marketing manager, one good roadmap for the upcoming 12 months..not a commanderwheel...there will be no pilots to command, can t u see that?
check the graph and try to fix this shame.
my 2 cents
The comm wheel will be awesome I think. A must have feature. Will it alter the entire game? Yes quite a bit. Not the static mechbay of course but every match.

100% correct. I'm afk in another game right now. Has more down time options than MechWarrior Online so I can afk in that game and get something done.

This game is making me be logged in for 1.5 hours to get some daily rewards. Easy as pie.

Maybe MechWarrior could reward players for being logged in for some time helping to defend their factions planets even if not fighting some time or something. But staring at that static mechbay would be painfull. +1 for first person out of combat....

Playerbase stinking
And instantly thought: Yeah! If we get vr (virtual reality), we also need vs (virtual smell).

PGI does not listen.

So we need:
- New game modes (with voting now we could).
- New maps, many many new maps.
- Smaller tournaments where every team could access.
- Open to community contributions: maps, skins, scripted missions.
and mainly
A change of mind about some initial choices
Some things should be re-evaluated:
- No respawn. Some game modes simply require it, see conquest or a capture the flag mode etc.
- Short quick games. Many would appreciate longer, more involving missions. One hour long games once in a while would not hurt. Joining long games in progress should be allowed.
- No dedicated server. Why doesn't PGI just sell virtual servers to teams? many would like to have persistent rooms named after their team, for example "JGx battleground". It would cost ZERO because those would be virtual server, a little more than a record into a database and could be additional income for PGI. Teams could assign "admin rights" using ranks inside their server.
- Why not a co-op mode?
- Select one public league and SUPPORT it with a semi-official status. The league should, ideally, be an overlay over the FW game mode, provide an API and let the community do the rest.
The game is solid now, it just needs new ways for players to USE their purchases.

We need battle!
The sensation to fight a Battle....
No this "no sense attack/defend the cannon" as exclusive form of battle in CW.
We need battle on large map with more players, we need to establish a beach head from a landing site, expanding the controlled sector one by one.
We need on the fly objective and we need let the commanding players how to allocate the force at disposal and how and when fight or leave objective to the enemy.
We need objective with in game reward for the side that achieve it...one example could be if I take a drop site I could, for a certain amount of time, allow others players in queue to join like reinforcements giving a little edge over the enemy causing the enemy eager to reconquest the drop site...
We need, sometimes, the possibility to have asymmetrical battles...
We need this and MWO could definitely skyrocket on the Olympus of the mech combat games....

I can agree with you somewhat, but EvE online has a much much larger learning curve and it keep it's playerbase fairly constant. I think it's probably due to it already being an established game, but my friends that tried MWO and EvE with me much prefer EvE.

Eve is another game that got into the market before it was swamped/saturated. It did add player character creation and the ship designs are quite good but could be better. But other than that it isn't that good of a game compared to whats possible today and wasn't really all that amazing to begin with.
I played a free trial a few years ago and recently tried again. Recently I was really happy with the character creation and logged out and quit as soon as the ship part started.
That game may do some major over hauls though, who knows. They are in development and making additions so its entirely possible. Anything that would make that game truly great, much of their current player would go berserk over though. Control freaks....

I can understand the logic for making MM faster. Except the lack of the wait time just caters to impatient folks who are probably the least likely to care about a PUG team. Solo pug is just loss after loss especially if I take anything but a really good heavy. I know that I should look at myself as the only static variable, but I would need over 2k direct fire damage while leading multiple charges to really change the outcome. I see many higher scoring PUG players just finding the safest spot to use their team's armor while they snipe away or go farm DCs for damage.
So the best way to now enjoy the game is with 6+ friends playing FW where you are pretty sure that over 65-75% of the games will be the same NEW folks that are gullible enough to push the "call to arms" button.
SEAL or CLUB - are these really the only options available? (Wait for the someone to spout the 2-5% when they were able to win on caps or beat the last 6 players on the enemy team. Never gamble on 2-5% returns)

I think a majority of people have finally figured it out, hence the drop in population. You can include me in those dropping population numbers as well and I been around since closed beta.
minimially viable product
population was in a tailspin before steam, hell you couldnt even play at night without playing hte same players over and over and over. steam was a small life line.

Round Robin goes out the table once you get over 30 teams in most Tournaments i have ever played, be it Video Games or Sports, paintball, etc. The time involved just getting the Prelim's finished is staggering.
This is why brackets exist, lessens the load, weeds out the non committed just the same and is less taxing on everyone. Even your staff for said Tournament.
I'd say that this assessment seems to be likely. The last weekend before the tournament went live was May 22rd ... which corresponds more or less to the inflection point of the player number curve from Steam. The tournament client was released May 26th and Steam concurrent usage appears to have dropped fairly steadily since then.
I would guess that tournament client usage is not reported on Steam and folks are playing the tournament client rather then the regular one.
P.S. Before that the concurrent number had dropped to about 2k but had been pretty steady for a couple of months.
