Don't bother patching. Game isn't worth playing until minimap is fixed.

I know this sounds melodramatic, and if I were you I'd have a hard time believing it, but trust me, it's the truth.

No, actually, Russ should put himself on the sidewalk in front of PGI for EVERYONE to come up and give him one of those, and an occasional kick to the twig and giggleberries.

I watched the recording of the Town Hall, and all I can say is HOW DARE YOU MAKE THIS GAME INTO WHAT YOU LIKE ABOUT WoT. IF I WANTED TO PLAY F^&$ING WoT, I WOULD BE PLAYING WoT. Russ, your explanations about why the re-scale of the minimap, why the loss of rotation of the minimap, and the loss of the directional arrows were TOTAL BS, ESPECIALLY when comparing them to WoT.

The highest tech in WoT is early 1950s, when there were no computers in tanks, warplanes, and mechanical computers in warships (Torpedo Data Computer was a GEAR DRIVEN MATHEMATICAL MACHINE.) In current day warplanes, warships and Tanks, there are digital computers that are able to translate information into directional indicators (such as vector lines). We are playing a game that is in 3050, and even for those of us that are hardcore Battletech Book Geeks, the idea that a directional arrows would show on a radar scope is to be EXPECTED, since that would take the computing capacity that is less than a smart phone to do.

And to then in your arrogance say that WE need to live with these changes for a MONTH!?!?!?!? You really WANT to kill the game don't you.


RUSS, YOU NEED TO ROLL BACK THE MINI MAP OR START REFUNDING MONEY FOR PRE-PURCHASES! THIS GAME IS NOT YOUR PERSONAL TOY, IT IS A GAME FOR THE CUSTOMERS, AND REMEMBER THE FIRST RULE OF BUSINESS, THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.

New minimap is the worst thing ever happend to this game... Just give us the old one back.

- Glad I finished already event before patch. Playing now - really hard. Mini-map useless for close combat and also make impossible ambush situation. First - bad, because you cant fast move for new enemy if it shows from side. And with alpha strike and sometimes "tin-can" armor - you dead in seconds. Trying to adapt to new mini-map - i already loose 1\3 of my Tier. Second - seems good. No more "bottleneck" places om map and preferable places... now everyone run in group all over... or stay in one place... or scatter to take solo battle. Not a good choice for command game.

This new minimap is not functional. We need an option to keep the old one with rotation, close-mid range based and coordinates for every quadrant.
You cannot change your playstyle in this way after 4 years, people get really mad.

Server connection lost. Hot fix? Or i can uninstall now?

Edit: reconnected, LURMed 4 from 900 m at new frozen city, uninstalled, back in Python.

At least the new minimap will make it sure, that nobody will complain about the rescales.

But that is the only positive thing. Oh, and that i can play with the old Minimap on the Tournament Server.

So Russ, i'm so glad i didn't buy MC and buy myself an Oxide at the last sale. I really would have regretted it now.
Give us the old minimap back, and i might start spending money on this game again.

I just played my first match Post Patch.

Frozen City with a Locust, why a locust ??? after i cycled through my 47 mech's and decided the only one worth playing post patch was the locust. The collection.... i worked so hard on and spent money on is trash i literally feel my time with MWO was a waste. a grasshopper the size of an Atlas ????!@@#!$ Personally i don't care if the volumes match up most IS heavy are the size of an Atlas, light mechs are the size of mediums .. mediums the size of heavies ... heavies the size of mediums or assaults.

The mini map is absurd if its not returned to normal I'll be uninstalling the game.

The new Frozen city ... between the mini map and the new map layout i was literally going in a circle, well at least i think i was i have no clue what i was doing.

PGI my girlfriend would like to thank you for delivering back her boyfriend. I have only been playing this game since April but it grabbed me like a heroin addiction. This patch has made me feel the 300+ hours and $300 + dollars I've spent on this game was a terrible TERRIBLE mistake. I can only imagine how people that have more invested feel.

Seems like an ok patch..haven't checked all the changes yet.....

However, the new mini map is horrible! It isn't even a "mini" map.

Either allow players to switch to the old style -or- put a zoom on the dern thing.

Modules are useless....can't even see UAVs..and seismic is useless. Can't even tell which way your allies are facing. Pure Pointless Change.

BEST QUICK FIX I HEARD IN GAME: "PUT A POST-IT NOTE OVER THE MAP ON YOUR SCREEN SO IT DOESN'T MESS YOU UP"

Honestly...it makes the game not worth playing for me.

UPDATE: Just played my third game with the new mini map. It is so horrible that I will actually now stop playing mechwarrior until it's fixed. If PGI doesn't care....oh well. Many other games out there for me to choose from.

You know.. Every time, when PGI and @Russ try to implement some new "community longtime wish" stuff.. they miss it.. badly..

I think that any RANDOMLY picked MWO player, who played this game longer, than.. about... 1 month, could figur out least 3 better solutions, than @Russ's team usually do.. Ohhh..

This will be a very, very long month ... ... least for those few people, who still stay here...

everything looking good, except for the minimap, i did not know where i was heading half the time, or my enemy was at in relation to me, put that map in another screen or out, but bring the old one back, the one where your mech its the center, i want to know what around me and near me, not everything, its sensory and information overload

The Map must be the old, perfectly functioning Minimap literally EVERYBODY was happy with.
